NV Energy said it can't continue the contract because of its "own resource needs." At a business event last September, an NV Energy executive said data centers have driven requests to triple the company's peak capacity, calling it "unprecedented times" and adding that they're "excited to serve this load" but "cannot impact our existing customer base." Liberty Utilities now has about a year to find replacement power, likely from sources outside California since it's not physically connected to California's energy market. My Take A utility is telling 49,000 residential customers to find electricity elsewhere because data centers need the capacity. That's the tradeoff being made explicit. NV Energy didn't frame it that way, but when your executive says data center requests would triple peak capacity and then you cut off a decades-long customer to meet your "own resource needs," the math is obvious. This is happening while AI companies burn through electricity at rates that would have seemed absurd five years ago. Jensen wants engineers using $250,000 in tokens per year. OpenAI is building data centers that need their own power plants. And now a ski town is being told to find power somewhere else because the grid can't serve both them and the machines. The NV Energy executive said they can't impact their existing customer base, but Liberty's customers are their existing customer base. They just decided which customers matter more. Hedgie🤗

Wait, so Apple released a keyboard that misses keystrokes even if it lights up? Which then screws up autocorrect? I was a Chief Technical officer for years. There is NO WAY that gets past testing. They want to steer you towards using voice dictation for very bad reasons.

@MbarkCherguia The extreme response would be to call code enforcement at the city or county. I would walk next door to talk with my neighbor. If it doesn't impede how I want to use the backyard, just let it go. It's much more difficult than living next door to someone you've pissed off.

Yesterday afternoon I had a community meeting at the library in Home, Wa (in the KP). When my wife and I arrived we were greeted by a large welcoming committee waving anti-ICE signs. Two deputies were there to make sure my friends didn't try to harm us, and we could get inside safely. You see, Mrs. Sheriff goes with me to most all my meetings and events. We are a team. The room I spoke in was not very big, and there was standing room only. Most of the crowd was not there to discuss the quadruple homicide that happened on February 24, 2026. They were there to yell and scream at me for working with ICE. The funny thing is, we don't work with ICE, at all. They also wanted to yell at me for things I said on social media and interviews. Several of these people are lunatics. They yelled over me, cussed at me, and continuously interrupted me. One guy was so mad he was shaking and frothing at the mouth. I told him he needed at hug. They didn't want to hear about crime in unincorporated Pierce County being down 17% for violent crime and down 22% for property crime while Tacoma crime is up. They don't care about safe communities. They just hate. You should have seen when I asked them what a woman is. Not one of them could or would answer. Two people claimed to have Masters Degrees in Psychology or a related field and so much experience, but they couldn't define what a woman is. Two people were wearing masks, but they want to make sure cops don't wear masks. I asked them what has changed since the scamdemic when we cops were told to wear masks or get fired. I asked them if they wanted us to protect ourselves and others from covid. All-in-all it was a fun time. Many people ask me how I can remain so calm with all these haters yelling and screaming. I've been dealing with mental health illness for 35 years. I know they need some help, a hug, and a smile. They love a smile.

When he booked, it may not have been possible to choose seats that far in advance. There are only 24 seats total in first class (we always fly first class on Alaska), so he booked 1/4 the total total at once. Hubby and I sometimes can’t sit together. Cabin staff are very happy to keep track of kids.

Every time I post about our family getting split up on a flight I’m told I didn’t pay enough for our seats or book far enough in advance. But this is what Macaulay Culkin just posted. It should not be legal for airlines to split up kids and parents on the same reservation.

They fight over the carcass. They eat the brain first. Second: chimpanzee teeth are larger than ours: bigger canines, bigger molars, because chimpanzees process tough raw vegetation with their face. We stopped needing to do that when we invented tools. Third: your teeth are not your primary food processing equipment. Your hands are. A knife is. Fire is. A beaver's teeth can fell a tree. A human with an axe fells it faster and doesn't need the teeth at all. The entire teeth argument assumes that the body part you use to eat food is also the body part that defines your diet. That logic doesn't survive contact with a chimpanzee holding a dead monkey, let alone a human holding a flint scraper from 2.6 million years ago. Our teeth got smaller because our tools got sharper. The diet didn't change. The equipment did. "But the flat molars..." Are you doing the flat molars thing again.
