I have stopped commenting on most political items in the news, but I pushed for @GovRonDeSantis as AG back in fall of 2024. He would be the pit bull that is needed in that position, and the difference he would make might be as great as Rubio is in his.
Clay Travis@ClayTravis

Lee Zeldin would be a great AG choice. But if Trump went outside the cabinet, here are three names I’d seriously consider who would all be excellent: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and two senators who would likely be confirmed with ease: Texas’s Ted Cruz and Utah’s Mike Lee.

Feeling slightly under the weather on a rainy day in Athens. My 2nd lowest overall step count for a day in 4 years at 11k steps, less than half my normal 24k per day. I haven’t run in almost 2 weeks after 10 days of holiday in Italy. Hoping for no rain and some more energy will enable a short run tomorrow.

The book telling the whole story of this fraud, Veritas by Ariel Saber is an amazing book detailing how the fraud was committed and accepted by some of the most accomplished scholars, simply because it helped amplify their already bias understanding of NT history and canon formation.
Wes Huff@WesleyLHuff

It’s April 1st, what better day to highlight a manuscript fraud? Ever heard of the Gospels of Jesus’s wife? It ended up being a little more 21st century than 1st century in its origins (a 🧵).

@tolkienthoughts If someone is not actually reading or using the books, they should not get a say on how they are shelved. At least she didn’t do them by color.

My wife likes to take random assortments of my books and create what she believes to be aesthetically-pleasing display shelves. I despair of these hodge-podge shelves but it’s a trade off necessary to save the shelves from being populated by picture frames.

@Domestique___ Now do winning % of all races entered over last 12 months. The above is a somewhat meaningless statistic.

Almost 69 but my life is not slowing down or more quiet. Yes I’m more reflective, called more to spirituality and following Jesus. I’m also traveling more, more time with kids & grandkids, running and walking more. Life only slows down if you let it. I realize my days are numbered thus I desire to use every day to its full potential for God and those I love.
Slim@onu_slim

Something I have noticed about age 67 is that life becomes painfully quiet, and in that quiet, the truth finally speaks. The noise is gone, the rush is gone, the need to prove anything to anyone has faded. What remains is you, your memories, and the weight of the choices you made when you still had time. At that age, you don’t argue with reality anymore, you sit with it. At 67, people are not chasing life, they are reviewing it. The conversations are slower, the laughter is softer, and sometimes, the silence says more than words ever could. You begin to feel the absence of people who once filled your world, and you realize that time didn’t just pass, it took things with it. It is also the age where regrets become clearer than dreams. The chances you didn’t take, the love you didn’t express, the time you wasted trying to be everything except yourself, these things don’t shout, they sit quietly in your chest. And yet, there is a strange kind of wisdom that comes with it, a deep understanding that life was never about how fast you moved, but how well you lived. At 67, the truth is no longer negotiable, it simply stands in front of you, asking one question: Did you truly live, or did you just pass through time?

Very helpful advice. As a 68 year AI newbie, I’ve had just a few AI encounters that I can see I can build on. As I’m retired, I have 3 main categories of my life: 1) long distance running 2) traveling in Europe 3) desire to go back to graduate level Biblical scholarship. It has helped me analyze my training runs and prepare race prep. It helped me design a 9 day Tuscany trip, and is giving reading paths to increase my re entry back into higher scholarship reading. I’m learning to be more succinct in how I prompt and ask for less flattering responses which can lull you out of reality.

AI is here to stay, and many Christians are wondering what to do with it. In this article I share some of the ways I use AI—along with the dangers that still concern me. challies.com/articles/wise-…

Last long run today as we leave for Europe on Thursday for 6 weeks. After a brief stop in Athens, it is on to Florence for 9 days before we go back to Athens for month of April. So now no running for almost 2 weeks as I’m immersed in all things Florentine. I might do a half marathon along the sea at the end of April.

@FreeBird_2023 Never kept track of reading until this year. Now obsessed by it because my goal is 750 pages per week. This year already over 6000 (7 full books and parts of 7 others). I’m getting ready to go back to grad school at age 69.

I had a shock thought a week or so ago when I guesstimated how many books I've read in the past 64 years (Started at age 3) In our house, we have ~2,000 books and that's after having down sized the past 7 years. I have 847 books read in my Goodreads inventory that I started in 2014. And I'm sure that I missed few here and there since.
