Judging by my comment section, in recent days I’ve been reaching a new audience of people who REALLY hate people who use drugs. Some of you say the quiet part out loud: you don’t care if drug users die. Some of you don’t say it, but your support for the closure of harm reduction and overdose prevention services speaks volumes. NEWSFLASH ⚡️ The same shitmix of drugs that is responsible for a 250% increase in BC drug deaths, and a 300% increase in Alberta drug deaths, over just 7 years (‼️) is also causing a CORRESPONDING INCREASE in: ➡️ Permanent brain injuries ➡️ Physical injuries ➡️ pressure on first responders ➡️ Impacts to health care ➡️ Pressure on detox & recovery programs ➡️ impacts to public safety We don’t have the resources or people to deal with such a huge increase over such a short time.   👆 HARM REDUCTION REDUCES ALL THOSE IMPACTS 👆 Harm reduction programs improve outcomes, prevent anoxic brain injuries & lead to less need for emergency services and health care.
