BIG PULLBACKS IN THE MID-MARCH SNOW IDEA SOME ARE PROMOTING… I’ve seen a lot of posts lately suggesting a return to an active snow pattern for the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast cities, so I figured I’d weigh in. Looking at the latest trends in both the AI European model and the traditional ensembles, the signal remains fairly consistent — most of the wintry potential favors higher elevations, which I generally agree with. That doesn’t mean a chill won’t return. In fact, my forecast does lean cooler as we move deeper into March. I just don’t see any Arctic-level or record-breaking cold more of a reminder that winter hasn’t completely left yet. The main teleconnection supporting that cooler look is the Arctic Oscillation, which is expected to briefly dip negative. However, we still lack meaningful blocking, which makes it difficult to support coastal redevelopment and the kind of big March snowstorms some are advertising. @PIX11News
