Cleveland State Cougars – 2026 Team Spotlight (Offense Only) The Cleveland State Cougars have been one of the most dangerous offenses in the TCCAA so far in the 2026 season. Through 24 games, the Cougars have scored 235 runs while posting a .327 team batting average, .463 on-base percentage, and an impressive .620 slugging percentage. Cleveland State’s lineup has also delivered elite power with 49 home runs, making them one of the most explosive teams in Tennessee JUCO baseball. The offense is headlined by Nolan Sergeant, who is putting together one of the most dominant seasons in the conference. The sophomore outfielder is hitting .494 with 39 hits, 11 home runs, and 41 RBIs, while posting a massive 1.101 slugging percentage. Several other Cougars have been key contributors in the lineup. Evan Leonard has been outstanding behind the plate, hitting .420 with 6 home runs and a .588 on-base percentage. Jon Jon Read has also been a major force offensively, batting .408 with 29 hits and a .634 slugging percentage. Power has come from multiple spots in the order, including Kwade Carver, who has launched 9 home runs with 27 RBIs, and Nelson McKnight, who is hitting .310 with 4 home runs and a .515 OBP. The Cougars have also received strong production from Hank Adams (.364 AVG), Nate Severance (.304 AVG with 21 stolen bases), and Jaxon Humble (.295 with 15 RBIs), adding both speed and depth throughout the lineup. With contributions across the roster and multiple players producing at a high level, Cleveland State has built one of the deepest and most explosive offenses in the TCCAA and looks poised to remain a serious contender as conference play continues.

Cleveland State Cougars – Pitching Breakdown (2026) While Cleveland State’s offense has grabbed attention across the TCCAA, the Cougars have also received strong performances on the mound from several key arms throughout the staff. Leading the rotation is Braden Suggs, who has been one of the Cougars’ most reliable starters. The right-hander has struck out 52 batters in 34.1 innings, producing an impressive 13.63 K/9 while maintaining a 4.72 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. Another major contributor has been Max Owens, who has logged 35 innings while recording 40 strikeouts. Owens holds a 10.29 K/9, a 4.63 ERA, and a 1.54 WHIP, giving Cleveland State a strong presence in the starting rotation. Parker Coe has also been a key arm for the Cougars, posting 31 strikeouts in 23.1 innings with an 11.96 K/9 and a 1.33 WHIP, showing the ability to generate swings and misses. Out of the bullpen, Torrey Robinson has been one of the most electric strikeout arms on the staff. The freshman left-hander has recorded 17 strikeouts in 10.2 innings, producing an impressive 14.34 K/9. Freshman right-hander Evan Cope has also provided innings for the Cougars, striking out 12 batters in 15.1 innings with a 1.30 WHIP. The staff has also received contributions from JC Armour, Anthony Biondo, and Cade Batchelor, helping give Cleveland State multiple options on the mound throughout the season. With several pitchers capable of generating strikeouts and handling key innings, Cleveland State’s pitching staff continues to complement an already dangerous lineup as the Cougars push through TCCAA conference play.
