@TheNzRocketeer I went on a 14 day holiday around the Nth Island and arriving back home in Kaiapoi I heard a radio going out the back only to find I left the keys in the work van and radio blaring away.

Labour ramped up the number of govt staff, then ramped up their pay. With six-figure salaries across the board, the Bureaucrat Salary Leaderboard has exposed that every single government department has a higher average salary than New Zealanders working in the private-sector (i.e. the taxpayers!). ...and Sir Humphrey's Pay Gap is getting even larger 📷 📷Public sector workers enjoyed an average hike to their salary of 21.37 percent between 2020 and 2025, almost fifty percent more than the 14.49 percent wage growth in the private sector over the same period. Now, no one’s saying public sector staff shouldn’t be paid fairly. And with the Government borrowing $48 million per day just to keep the lights on, these hikes show that the politicians haven't yet got to grips with keeping a lid on the costs of Government.
