@HerrLizzie @draysbay I was there, as well! 300 level, 1st base side. I initially said “that’s a run” as the ball hit the wall, then yelled “this is close” as The Relay came in. Next thing I knew, Altuve was out. Amazing moment, atmosphere and game.

This is, at the very least, a significant setback for the future of the Rays in the Tampa Bay area. Another big turn in the long "will they or won't they" saga surrounding a new ballpark.

In a letter to Pinellas County commissioners, the Rays say the county not approving the $312.5M bond in October makes it impossible to have the new stadium ready by 2028, and they say 2029 will result in significantly higher costs… AND they say they’ve already wasted $50M

@JonJankowskiTV @JustinWarmoth Couldn't agree more. It's tough seeing top players get dealt away so often. I would have some hope with the new stadium likely on the way, but after seeing the Marlins the past 12 years, I'm not totally convinced the payroll will go up and stay up.
