@wifemomcpa100 Wait. What? No way … I thought CPAs are forbidden from being funny. It’s in the AICPA code of ethics.
Serious story… When I was an intern at a small CPA firm many years ago, partner told me I was too happy so not a good fit for the firm.

I’m taking my stand-up comedy on the road. My mom & I are traveling across America exposing family drama.
She’s doing a set. I’m doing a set. Then, we’re doing a set together. It’s like being a fly on a wall in family therapy. Tix on sale in NY, Philly, Chicago, New Orleans, L.A., ATL, and more coming soon.

My favorite thing about accounting:
You can be the accountant for anything
Even the World Cup
A few months ago I ended up down the rabbit hole of (English) football finance
How player contracts work, how clubs stay within the finance rules etc
It's a massively complex web of rules that play a big part in a club's ability to buy & sell players, improve infrastructure etc
And the whole thing is propped up by a load of accountants
Everywhere you look people need accountants
But most of us stop at working with... dentists 🫠
"Don't make your hobby your job" makes sense for some industries
But imagine marrying accounting with something you're actually passionate about
Then calling it a niche, and building a hyper-profitable firm around it
What a "job" that would be

@patrickdichter Way to go! Definitely a need for this. Is the RIA operating as a separate entity?

I'm excited to officially announce we've launched Financial Planning Services at Appletree! We had tax clients consistently asking for financial planning advice, and we often saw 'financial planners' that were one dimensional or pushing unnecessary products. Appletree Financial Services is an independent RIA and we hired Jack Donius, CFP® who is an excellent Certified Financial Planner to work with clients nationwide. If you want a 2nd opinion or a free intro call, send me a DM.

@RDriscollCPA When I read “Clay is so freaking cool,” I initially thought it was another new model! Well, he kinda is.

@TheTaxNomad This is a great opportunity for someone. Couldn’t work for a better person. (Well, except for me 😉)

We're hiring a Senior Tax Advisor (CPA or EA) at Blueprint Tax.
This is not a traditional tax manager role.
And it's not a book-building role.
We're a boutique, advisory-focused tax firm serving business owners ($1M-$10M revenue) and real estate investors nationwide. I remain the primary advisor and relationship owner, allowing our technical team to focus on what they do best: solving tax problems.
I'm looking for someone who loves:
• Solving complex tax issues
• Reviewing returns and improving quality
• Finding tax-saving opportunities
• Supporting tax planning strategies
• Building better systems and processes
You'll help:
• Review and prepare 1040s, S Corps, Partnerships, and select C Corps
• Support tax planning and projection work
• Research technical tax issues
• Improve firm processes and quality control
• Serve as the technical resource for the team
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical side of tax and would rather spend their time reviewing, researching, and planning than managing client relationships all day.
What we offer:
✅ Fully remote
✅ No time tracking
✅ Fridays off Apr 16–Jul 31
✅ Health insurance, disability, & 401(k)
✅ High autonomy and flexibility
✅ Advisory-first culture
CPA or EA required. US based
If you're the person everyone comes to with technical tax questions, I'd love to talk.
DM me for details.

@jasononfirms Well, AI is gong the way of the dodo cuz it’s a fad /s. This is an incredibly solid, well-run staffing company. Both for the “staff” and the firms that partner with them.

@adammarkowitzEA @taxretreat @andreacpa0 @taxlady04 Tell me more about the Snuggie you’re wearing. Ultimate travel hack.

Three years ago, I handed over the keys to our family home and hit the road.
We had 12 months of RV resorts and campgrounds booked with no idea how much it would change us.
Looking back, it’s one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.
Wr grew in ways we never could have imagined. Amazing would be an understatement.
Not all who wander are lost

@CPATaxTeam Craig, why would you want to hold people accountable? That’s very 20th century. /s

16 speeding violations before anything is done?
How about suspension at 3, revocation at 5?
Collin Rugg@CollinRugg
New Yorkers with 16 or more speeding violations will now have to install devices in their cars to limit their driving speeds. The device will use GPS tracking to restrict how fast the car can drive to the posted speed limit. The device will be wired into the vehicle's onboard computer. If drivers refuse to install the device, their registrations will be revoked after 45 days.

@jasononfirms I’m thrilled that with each successive town the chairs have more cushion. At this rate Denver will be Lazy Boys!!
