@BiblicalBeauty @prettylieb Idk I’m pretty grateful when I don’t waste money on stuff that the giftee won’t like or use. Bc gift giving isn’t supposed to be about the giver. It is, in fact, supposed to be tailored to the personal preferences of the receiver. Anything else is egotism dressed as generosity 🤷🏻‍♀️

@cardamomkiss “I definitely wouldn’t go OR send a gift” — how are people’s egos this fragile? Why are boundaries so offensive? Like, sorry for trying to save you from wasting money on shit we don’t want our kid to play with and won’t give him?

@l_vliet72077 @Esoteric_Though @ATradCatholic I don’t think it’s dishonest for me to elucidate on the fact that we read Scripture but clearly have different interpretations. I think yours is incorrect, but I see why you believe it. I don’t see why you’d say my professed belief is me being dishonest though.

@RyanChristine93 @Esoteric_Though @ATradCatholic I think my explanation is accurate. Your denial isn't honest. Jesus' Words are who Jesus is. Jesus said if you knew Moses You would know me. The Law is Jesus perfection in words. The Word became flesh. Your disagreement is partisan and not based on scripture.

The Mass literally contains readings from the Old Testament, Psalms, Epistles, and the Gospels every single day. But please continue explaining how Catholics “avoid the Bible.” 🤡

@l_vliet72077 @Esoteric_Though @ATradCatholic 1. It’s not mindless and 2. The bread that came down from Heaven was Jesus, not the Bible, and you can find that in the Eucharist. But I understand that you disagree with that. My goal was merely to correct a poor explanation of Catholic Mass

@Esoteric_Though @l_vliet72077 @ATradCatholic Liturgy of the Word: OT, psalm, NT, Gospel, homily Liturgy of the Eucharist Not sure where youre getting “collaborative readings from the liturgy” & its kinda wild to call the Gospel “a main piece of scripture” but we’re there to worship, not listen to a lecture

I’ve been to multiple masses. They do spend far less time preaching on the word than what less-liturgical Christians would be used to. Much of it is just “a reading from the Gospel of John” and then they read a verse, then sung a hymn, then sort of repeat that for a while. Then there’s usually a main piece of scripture, followed by the homily- which is where the priest speaks pretty freely on that reading. Then there’s Eucharist, more hymns, and some collaborative readings from the liturgy. There’s so much to do compared to an evangelical service for example, where the bulk of time is reading the bible and then preaching about it. It’s compressed.

@Gryph911 Women do this shit to manipulate you. If she was on her own, she would hand wash the one pan like any normal human would. Then cook food, and then do other shit while waiting for it to cook. What's she's trying to say is "you don't help out" but she's not honest about it.

You have to be careful what you put in your head. It took me almost 20 years to get the images of my dad’s violent p-rn put of my head. It took several months to get the video of Charlie’s murder out of my head. I still have some October 7 and 9/11 images stuck in my head. I am making a conscious decision not to read the Epstein files. I know enough about what he did. I know the kind of monster he was. I don’t need hundreds of disturbing reports and perverted emails stagnating in my head like spiritually toxic swill. You have to be careful what you put in your head.

Do people not realize it's a choice? If you are that bored and miserable at your 9-5 office job and you don't have kids to provide for, quit your job and go teach English in a foreign country. Or move to a beach town and work at a bar. Or join the military and train to become a pilot. IDK, I can think of a hundred things to do for work if you do not want to be in an office from 9-5, although the non-office jobs are sometimes harder.

nobody told me this when I started working a 9-5: - it's not even a 9-5. every job I've had has been 8 to 6. - you get home, cook dinner, and don't feel like doing anything else for the rest of the day. then it's right back to work before you know it. - you used to play guitar. you used to read books. you used to work out. they just slowly get phased out of you and you don't even notice it happening. - you eat lunch at your desk because the job is understaffed and you have too much to do. that "1 hour break" they sold you doesn't exist. - you leave the house at 7. you get home at 6. you are physically and mentally exhausted. this is a "good" day. - you sit at your desk and can't get past 5 minutes without being the most bored you've ever been in your life - you feel ready to have a mid-life crisis in 3 years let alone before you turn 40 - one day you realise you're giving up 5 days of your life every single week just to have a few hours at night and 2 days on the weekend. and you just accept it.

@ZeekArkham @alphafox The amount of people playing “I had it worse” Olympics so gleefully is depressing, especially when it’s coming down to outright abusive tactics. That’s not a badge of honor. I’m sorry yall were treated that way. It’s possible to turn out well without that level of mistreatment

@alphafox My mom would have taken the hamburger, whooped my ass, and sent me to bed. Her actions made me develop a disease called “appreciate what you have in front of you.” This gentle-parenting bs is doing nothing but making soft adults.

@_nomadic_soul I think your first point is inaccurate bc men are half the equation. We don’t think they should be having sex if not willing to risk the chance of pregnancy. But I think your second point is a fair issue to raise with many prolifers. Shame isn’t helpful. It’s cruel.

@PNWConservative For the clever boys and girls bringing up Mary🙄 — if God ever sends an angel to you asking you to carry and birth his son, rest easy knowing that 1. it’s not gonna happen bc it already did. You’re in the clear. And 2. you’d have a choice. Mary said yes. You could say no.

@MetaIIica @J_K_Wood Except that “spontaneous abortion” and “elective/induced abortion” are two entirely different things and it’s intentionally obtuse to conflate the two. Good luck to you, telling women who have miscarried that they had an abortion.

@RyanChristine93 @J_K_Wood So, for example: “spontaneous abortion,” “induced abortion,” “elective abortion,” etc. You are using a narrowly redefined word unnecessarily loaded with morality and intent. Which you can do. It is 2026, after all. People have redefined “woman.”

Why do you need it to be true so badly that every high-risk pregnancy intervention is “abortion”? If you were comfortable with the morality of abortion, you wouldn’t need to keep conflating it with interventions in emergencies where physicians are trying to preserve all life.

The treatment for; 1.Ectopic pregnancy 2.Incomplete miscarriage 3.Missed miscarriage 4.Septic uterus / septic abortion 5.Molar pregnancy 6.Pre-viable PPROM with infection risk 7.Severe preeclampsia or eclampsia (pre-viability) 8.HELLP syndrome 9.Chorioamnionitis 10.Placental abruption with maternal instability Is an ABORTION! If you are denied an abortion in these situations, you DIE! This isn’t politics. It’s medicine!!

@MetaIIica @J_K_Wood Abortion is the *intentional* ending of a pregnancy. There is abortion via D&E, but also D&E performed for a dead fetus. Only one has the added step of ending the life of that fetus. That’s an abortion. Procedures ≠ abortions just bc they can be used as abortion methods.

@J_K_Wood It’s not that she “needs” it to be true, it just is. One can oppose elective abortions while also recognizing that some life-saving procedures are abortions. They are not “murder.” These are not elective procedures.

@KaizenMayDay @8WithaTiara Dense and ridiculous 😂 you can’t make a baby without an egg, but it’s the sperm’s fault? No woman understands her own cycle enough to abstain from sex with a man during ovulation? You want this to be men’s fault but it’s not. Nor is it women’s. Or is that too nuanced for you?

It’s clear everybody loves to scream about abortion until it’s time to talk about why they actually happen. It’s not just “irresponsible women.” It’s r@pe. It’s failed birth control. It’s abusive partners. It’s medical emergencies. It’s non-viable pregnancies. It’s women who already have kids and can’t afford another mouth to feed. But that part doesn’t trend as well, huh? Some of y’all only care about the pregnancy.. not the woman, not the context, not the aftermath. You want a simple villain because it’s easier than admitting real life is complicated. If you’ve never had to sit in that position, count yourself lucky. But stop pretending every story fits your comfort narrative.
