@DanCanobbio That’s why I said on your preview pod Benavidez would win easy. Zurdo ain’t great. Beat average fighters and only time he fought somebody good like Bivol he lost easily. Benavidez unreal though!

Benavidez was insane last night. Crazy hand speed but damn Zurdo was awful. Zero head movement. Stood in range. Came in talking retirement. Hideous performance

Ramirez was absolutely torn apart by the hand speed and combination punching of Benavidez. Couldn’t live with him. That was mightily, mightily impressive. #BenavidezZurdo

Tino Livramento would be an unreal addition to this squad. I cannot stress enough how much of an improvement he makes on this team.
HandofArsenal@HandofArsenal

🚨 Arsenal are now confident Jurrien Timber will put pen to paper and sign a long-term extension this summer. Talks have progressed excellently with his new deal reflecting his status within the squad. In terms of his current health status, groin injuries are very tricky to manage. As far as I know they have been trying to manage him back into playing condition. I was told he was seeing a specialist but I need further confirmation / clarity on that. People around the club are still optimistic he features again this season but truthfully I check everyday waiting to give you the news he is back. 🚨 Arsenal are tracking Mika Godts. My understanding is the Belgian would be very open to joining Arsenal should we step up our interest and make a serious play for him. 🚨 As reported this week, Kai Havertz is pushing to return with Arteta saying he could make Atleti (H). Finally, like last summer, multiple targets are being spoken to for each position. One of these players is Livramento who is convinced he is joining Arsenal. I must stress we have not made any contact with Newcastle so there is no current indication he is our top target. Every day there is a new “link” and its probably just Berta doing basic checks. No need for “major breaking” everyday. I hope this update provides some much needed clarity.

@TortosaExpat Ye I put cbs in the b or c level fighter category, Benavidez would absolutely rip him to shreds. David is faster, quicker and better feet and stamina. Doesn’t rely on power. Zurdo never beaten anyone really great. Beaten the likes of durticas who’s 40. Benavidez wins easily

@RyanCooley96 CBS? But David stepping up 25 pounds here and his best wins were at super middle not light heavy.

It wouldn’t surprise me if either Nakatani or Zurdo won. I think that both underdogs are being overlooked to a degree. I’m expecting two tough fights tomorrow.

@DanCanobbio Benavidez will destroy him. Who has zurdo beaten? Beaten nothing but average older fighters. No A or A+ wins at all. Got destroyed by Bivol when he last stepped up and same will happen on Saturday. Zurdo fought nobody great.

@RobTebbutt Take your point. He’s Looked good while not fighting A level or even maybe b level fighters. Just like he did before stepping up to fight bivol.

@RyanCooley96 If either man wins easily, I’ll be very surprised. I think Ramirez has looked good at cruiserweight. Picking Benavidez to win by decision, but expecting a good, competitive fight.

Benavidez looks absolutely massive. Still has those fast hands, but I'm very interested to see how he looks if and when the fight goes into the second half...

Fascinating game where both teams are setup to be more effective without the ball. Lookman being fit to start puts more emphasis on white’s performance. Martinelli against Llorente is potentially a big opportunity for him.

@DiffKnock @alexmoneypenny @RohanJivanAFC @GeorgeV_AFC Lads, not trying to bash him but how did we sign Gyokeres. How can our recruitment team not see his touch etc. He makes our attackers so much worse we have to be honest. It’s frustrating me because I think even if we had somebody like Joao Pedro we’d have the league won.

@AFCAMDEN @jbaseball44 @AFCAMDEN what I can’t understand mate is how did we sign Gyokeres. We can all see he’s nowhere near the level. How did it happen. It’s mental

@jbaseball44 Would love to see Eze left, Saka right and Ode in the 10. Even think that would make Gyokeres viable

Having Saka on the pitch makes such a difference. Hoping he can sustain the load and contribute big minutes for the final 6/7 games. The stadium definitely felt calmer with him on the pitch, brings poise and clarity to the final third + is reliable in possession.

@RohanJivanAFC People need to be honest. Gyokeres comes on and attack collapses. Nobody trust him it’s a fact and loses every duel.

Rewatch confirmed initial feelings at the ground: I didn’t like a lot of things from the game. First half was decent, some nice ideas with the ball. Second half we fell into the same bad habits that have plagued 2026, which leaves me nervous. Will expand on it more later.

@EmanDaGoon Sorry to say but players don’t trust him. He loses the ball 43% of the time when played into him. 2nd highest in league. They trust Kai.

@HarrySymeou Harry love the pod and I’m not tryna bash gyokeres but I just cannot fathom how we looked at him and ended up signing him. That ball at end sums him up. It’s so so bad and arguably the worst hold up play in entire league. Makes the attack so much worse. It’s indefensible.

Any questions for tomorrow’s podcast? I feel exhausted after that. Strange feeling because I’m pleased with the win but it was a performance that creates more doubt & lots of discussions.

A win nonetheless but I came out of the ground so deflated. Mainly by the Havertz and Eze injuries, but also thinking about our attacking recruitment from the summer, Eze aside.
