@timheuer They really are the worst. I have plastic straws stashed in my car for this very reason. ;)

I need advice. So, my son arrives from school today and tells me that an older kid told him at recess that his dad(me) is “trash at hockey.” No biggie, kids say stupid stuff, right? But after thinking it over a little more, I realized it’s likely the kid’s father who told him that, and that bothers me…I can’t let it go. What’s the protocol for this. Do I challenge this pigeon via note? Send my kid in with a signed card for the dad? Or do I Iet it go and just enjoy the game. I’m all ears.

Build has always been a developer focused event, but I think it’s really nice and fitting that there are more developers from the Windows team in attendance than PMs. I’m looking forward to chatting with them! Thanks @RyanDemopoulos for the tip. #MSBuild

1/2) Tried #WindowsAppSDK 1.0.1 servicing release. It's still crashing like crazy when scaling != 100%. Please stay away from #WinUI 3 as far as possible. Any other professional organization would never release a product in this state. But Microsoft can get away with this.

@wimbokkers We tried to get this into 1.0, but were unable to stabilize in time. It's "Future" right now only because we haven't fully planned 1.1 yet (in process now). I suspect this will come in 1.1. Definitely an important capability.

Two weeks ago multi-windowing was still on the roadmap for Windows App SDK 1.0. Now it's planned for some 'future release'. How is Windows 11 theming more important than a basic win32 UI feature? #WinUI #WindowsAppSDK

@MustafaGeo @ana_wishnoff This is a great point. UWP is absolutely important to WinUI 3. And the UWP community has been able to benefit from WinUI 2 for years--we have a lot of concentration on Win32 right now since they've been a bit left out of the party.

@ana_wishnoff Excited for the future. It Seems like UWP is not getting much love initially. But I guess the focus is to port it to win32 first as they don't have winui 2 support.

@RyanDemopoulos @WindowsUI Hello Mr. Demopoulos. I’ve got a question. My teacher tells me that creating controls at runtime, that is, to write the code manually, results in a better performance compared to using the designer for creating controls at design time in WinForms apps. Is he right?

The @WindowsUI team is about to start a special "office hours"-type call to answer questions you have about #WinUI or the recently-released Preview 1. We have devs & PMs on the call to field a wide range of questions, including technical questions too. youtu.be/iQJGvCdbTZg

@mdtauk @dotMorten @SavoySchuler Yes, part of being open source is to add more of a community voice around what we work on. The team is discussing high level Preview 3 & 4 scoping this week, and will be happy to share the output of that some time after (maybe next community call).
