@charliermarsh I think @Modular making this mistake with mojo right now. Yes, servers is where the production environment is but exposure, experimentation and education in Windows is a huge market.

Forgot that we nearly shipped the initial uv release without Windows support. We expanded scope like two or three weeks before the launch. I think that would've been a big mistake.

@JezCorden Windows phone user here... I was on windows insiders on multiple devices and following all the news. I kind of checked out when I had to switch my windows phone in 2019. I still think Microsoft products are good in general but with less passion. WP was special.

Microsoft’s biggest 2026 problem isn’t AI, hardware, or competition — it’s that the customers who were once passionate have checked out. windowscentral.com/microsoft/head…

Microsoft global hackathon kicks off next week! I’ve got a few ideas for Windows, but first I want to hear from you: what do you miss most in Windows? How can Windows help you more with your daily tasks?

I don't want to learn the new React Framework of the Week. I just want to drag UI widgets onto a canvas and hook up their event handlers to code I write. Like VB in 1995. Except the output should work on Windows, Mac, and Linux. I'd buy that.

@Modular @StackOverflow The ability to gradually convert projects to mojo by calling mojo from python is important for the adaption store. The other two deciding factors are focus on consumer devices and having native Windows support. Unfortunately, neither of these two are current focus of Modular.

🚀 Exciting news! We're thrilled to introduce AnyMap 🌍, a new Python package designed to effortlessly integrate popular JavaScript mapping libraries into your Jupyter environment! With a unified API and minimal dependencies, you can easily work with backends like MapLibre, Mapbox, Leaflet, OpenLayers, DeckGL, KeplerGL, Cesium, and Potree. We're actively developing this package and would love your contributions! GitHub: github.com/opengeos/anymap Documentation: anymap.dev #geospatial #mapping #opensource #jupyter

@zacbowden Any recommendations for non-gaming laptop of about the same screen size with dedicated GPU and at least a touchscreen (pen preferred)?

I know the Surface Laptop Studio has its fans, but with hindsight, I think the Surface Book is a better form factor overall. I'd rather MS went back to that same detachable 3000x2000 screen with Snapdragon X Elite and a larger haptic trackpad, and that's the dream 2-in-1 laptop.

@abhicantdraw @mitsuhiko I wish pytorch Cuda on windows would be available in pypi. Nvidia, Microsoft, or somebody need to sponsor pypi specifically to enable this.
