1/ It was never "elbows up" for Canada. It was "elbows up" for privatization of public lands,assets, and amenities. Carney is central banker (twice over) with ties to a major private asset manager, banks and other dubious figures. He is part of a class of privileged expats.

But here's the thing, I can not find any evidence that any of the many lobbyists working on behalf of Nieuport in Toronto and Ottawa have ever disclosed that ownership and control. And that appears to violate both Ontario and federal lobbying laws. thestar.com/opinion/star-c…

@RonAJenkins @JennieWordenTO 3/2 (Supplemental) I would add that even when TO took on ON in 2018 to prevent changes to ward boundaries (among other things), TO lost at the Supreme Crt We had a decent case then and we lost. I do not think this issue presents anything more compelling for a court to consider

This province has been intent on utilizing it's constitutional powers to the max when it comes to micromanaging cities.

As a matter of constitutional law (see section 92), the Province of ON can override or displace the City of Toronto’s role in the Tripartite Agrmnt governing the Toronto Island Airport. Municipalities in Canada are, generally speaking, wholly under Provincial jurisdiction.

Until the Province **legally** replaces the City of Toronto -- and the City is investigating the legality of that -- the City remains one of the three signatories of the agreement. It might sound like a formality, but that's the case. That's significant.
