Since his article doesn’t link to the report - here it is, dated six days ago - says the same thing his article says - *not* that the building is unsafe, but that the report was reasonable and recommendations to mitigate were appropriate to extend its life infrastructureontario.ca/49ffb1/content…
I thought I was going to report on Carney’s office being caught in a lie. But it’s turned into a story of a potentially hallucinated claim that led to a politician getting widely dunked on. Oh, and a female columnist who called out the error before it was corrected? She had *her* piece pulled:

an update here— an editor at the star called to tell me they’re pulling my column this week on SSW bc star QP bureau did not like me pointing out that their reporting on the above story was objectively wrong (which they obv conceded given the correction) Rachel gets into it here
