Israel has won Eurovision 4 times (1978, 1979, 1998, 2018). In 2023, just before October 7, Israel finished third. I would’ve understood the rigging accusations if Israel had been a flop and suddenly started doing well after Oct 7, but that’s not the case. Israel is one of the most successful countries in Eurovision’s history. Remember, the internet is not real life. Israel is the underdog in the contest, and people tend to side with the underdog. Not to mention all the people who are tired of the pro-Hamas rallies and vote for Israel as a middle finger to them. The anti-Israel crowd has 25 countries to vote for, while Israel gets, unsurprisingly, all the pro-Israel vote. It’s not hard to understand why Israel finishes high. Given all of that, it’s surprising Israel has not won again. If there’s any rigging, it’s much more likely to stop Israel from winning, especially considering the Islamo-leftist coalition would riot.
