@ostrachan Many in this thread seem to be missing the big “if” at the beginning. If you are those things, then what you “want” will be what the Lord wills.
If mature saints (what his “if” describes) are competent to judge the world (1 Cor 6:2), they can discern God’s will for their lives.
English

John MacArthur on God's will: "Do whatever you want."
I've listened to a fair bit of John MacArthur's preaching, and I think some of his finest teaching OF ANY SUBJECT OR DOCTRINE is on doing the will of God. I cannot underscore how liberating MacArthur's treatment of God's will is. Read this:
"If you’re saved, Spirit-filled, sanctified, submissive, suffering, and thankful – you ready for this? – do whatever you want. Do whatever you want. Marry whoever you want. Go wherever you want. Work wherever you want."
This is truly Gospel Theology. This is liberation in the Spirit. This is freedom in Christ. This is not strict, severe, and legalistic. This is joyful, hopeful, and life-giving. It will unburden the anxious and gladden the downhearted.

@TheStaad I just took the same class at Midwestern. I came away with the exact opposite take.
The RCC is a human power grab, not a biblical church.

As a Baptist 25 years ago, I thought we were the original church that Jesus founded
Then I took a Church History course at a Southern Baptist seminary and realized that the Church is Catholic
So I became an atheist for a couple of decades until it became unbearable
If God can change me, he can change anybody
Keep praying for your loved ones

@RuslanKD This is the whole argument, brother. People who use the term “woke right” are responding to a racist minority (I hope they’re a minority).
English

@RuslanKD My wife has been here on a visa since she was 2. She’s built a life and had to work for everything she’s ever had. She’s also not taken advantage of by terrible rules like in the H1B.
I got turned down for 2 jobs due to DEI.
The situation is more complex than “racists”.

I’m happy when you guys are honest like this. Just say you think America should be a white country… blame “the jooz” and the immigrants for all your problems.
Some folks made good arguments why more legal immigration maybe bad. But back dooring goofy nonsense like hurts that
Tradvocate@TradAdvocate
@RuslanKD I want a moratorium on all immigration for the same reason that people want to immigrate here. Because I want to live in a majority white country.

@salthenurse08 @xTheGoodNews How is that not how I described it?
As far as bread winning, my wife’s had that role for 15 years, always edging me out by about $10k. She’s tired and wants a chance to stay home an be a mom before they grow to old, or for our grandchildren.
I’m trying to make that happen.
English

@RyanMDanks @xTheGoodNews That's not at all how you described it above but okay. Is there an issue with her being the breadwinner? What if she likes her job?
English

@salthenurse08 @xTheGoodNews Absolutely not. My wife is our bread winner, although I’m working hard to change that. I put her through college when we got married and she’s reaping those rewards.
But she would leave that career in a heartbeat if she no longer needed it.
English

@RyanMDanks @xTheGoodNews You think churches pay the mortgages and living expenses for widows??
Marriage doesn't come early for everyone. I don't think anyone should be owned by a career, but many careers (like starting a business) require a lot of hard work. She shouldn't be discouraged from that.
English

@xTheGoodNews @xTheGoodNews, I gotta disagree with you on this one.
The best time for my child to have social media is while they’re still under my guidance, so I can teach them how to navigate it properly.
English

@salthenurse08 @xTheGoodNews My wife will be a widow and cared for by our church, as is biblical. That’s why we chose a proper Acts 2 church.
My children have been raised to seek a God-fearing husband, not to grow up as “dog moms” or “boss babes”. They will have careers, but will not be owned by them.
English

@RyanMDanks @xTheGoodNews No, we just no longer refer to them as spinsters, that's all.
What if something happens to you, will your wife wither away?
I think it's great for women to understand that they can be self-sufficient before they get married.
