AM I WRONG FOR CHOOSING MY MOTHER OVER MY WIFE? My wife and I have a son who is about to turn five. For years, my parents, mostly my mother, have provided full time childcare at no cost. She follows every rule we set, no screens, no sweets, routines exactly as asked, and our son adores her. We genuinely could not afford daycare, and even if we could, it would not compare. Recently, we learned my parents have been quietly paying my older brother’s rent. He has a long history of poor choices, and my wife made a sharp comment about favoritism and how the problem child always gets rewarded. My mother snapped back hard, saying she spends forty hours a week caring for our child and can do whatever she wants with her money, even waste it entirely. The language was intense and shocked everyone. My wife demanded an apology. My mother apologized for the wording but doubled down on the message, saying her finances are not up for debate…….. 👇

My husband sent our neighbor a polite text. Neighbor replied calling him a “shit starter…” Well… my husband thought he was joking around so he replied sarcastically. Apparently… the neighbor was NOT joking and the sarcasm was not perceived. 😭 The wife called screaming that my husband was “threatening” them, while my husband sat there completely confused because he thought they had a good relationship and were bantering. At this point he’s wondering if he was texting with the wife the entire time and not the husband at all. It’s very out of character for this guy 😬 Was it not clear my husband was joking? My husband had to hang up on the woman because she wouldn’t stop screaming and wouldn’t let him explain that there was a misunderstanding. What do we do now? 😭

The whole point is you don’t get to question it. Otherwise you’re just describing occasional agreement. Again, the military is a great example of this. When you sign up for the military, you don’t know who’s going to be your boss. But you know you have to do what he says. If you are told you have to go overseas to some strange country, you have to fight kill and maybe die you must do it. You can’t say no. THAT is what submission is. You guys are just redefining “submission” as occasional agreement.

Do whatever I tell you to without question, is submission. The best example of submission is actually the military.

I spotted a double standard in Andrew Wilson’s defense of Jay Dyer. Jay accused Avery of “promoting and boosting attacks on Orthodoxy” because Life/GodLogic 2.0 redirected viewers to JP/Mauler’s anti-Orthodox stream. But Avery had no idea Life was going to do that. Jay still held Avery responsible for an indirect downstream action he neither initiated nor knew about. Yet when Jay publicly says “bingo” to a Dawah account that has personally slandered Avery, attacked his wife, and joined the effort to smear him, Andrew calls it “just selective agreement on one point.” Suddenly Jay bears zero responsibility for how the Dawah side uses his public validation to fuel their attacks. That does not work. If Avery is guilty for an indirect redirect he didn’t even know about, then Jay is responsible for directly validating someone actively attacking Avery and his wife. Avery gets blamed for something indirect and unknown. Jay gets excused for something direct and intentional. That is not a consistent principle. That is a double standard.

Not just bosses. We also do it with our friends and family, every time we change our plans to accommodate their preferences or modulate our words and tone to keep the peace. We do it with total strangers when we smile and say, "No problem" instead of a stream of angry words. What's weird is that women only object to submitting when it's to the man they allegedly love. Suddenly, it's outrageous and demeaning. Any other time, we just see it is being pleasant and flexible.
