@JeffLandry You're using Greenland having a better infant mortality rate than Mississippi as evidence of what exactly?

Denmark’s system fits Denmark, but it doesn’t fit Greenland. Just because Greenland has a similar healthcare structure to the Danes doesn’t mean their outcomes are the same.    Deploying a US military medical vessel to Greenland would dramatically expand access to advanced diagnostics, surgical services, and preventive care. President @realDonaldTrump is committed to strengthening healthcare outcomes across the territory.

The NDP won Surrey-Guildford by just 22 votes - securing a 4-YEAR MAJORITY NDP government. Exactly 22 votes were cast from a senior's residence, and were ordered by a SINGLE PERSON. The BC Elections team failed to follow protocol to ensure the integrity of these votes.

@TheRemanded @takovanpopta Yep. And no one (including Tako) helped with those costs, did they? Maybe because the allegations weren't credible.

@keithbaldrey I think there are plenty of reasons to criticize the Conservatives and Neufeld without pointing to a random 14 year old supporter.

I believe the BC Cons went about 5mil in debt to run the election. I also don’t know their internal reasons either to stop publicly supporting their candidate. It’s possible to also consider the AGM issues and the dead people registered before the leadership vote if I have it correct.

@TheRemanded @takovanpopta Why was the candidate stuck paying for this on his own? Could it be that others (like the BC Conservatives) didn't think it was credible enough to invest resources? For reference, the BC Conservatives got $3.37 million in direct taxpayer funding last year.

@RyanMatCampbell @takovanpopta Couple of the people at the location passed away, some didn’t want to go through the court process, other reasons and it was going to cost the candidate another 100-150k.

Nova Scotia is creating a new riding, aiming to represent Acadians. Chéticamp-Margarees-Pleasant Bay will have 3,889 electors, and a byelection will follow. It was carved out of Inverness, which is on the west side of Cape Breton Island. Below is a map of the new boundaries:

@cosminDZS FYI courts are not actually currently empowered to remedy discrimination in housing (for example). That's under the purview of the human rights tribunal.

There's nothing in the Charter that mandates the existence of human rights tribunals. Getting rid of them would not "legalize discrimination" you buffoon. Courts are equipped to remedy rights infringements. We don't need an extrajudicial body staffed by leftist lunatic activists
Ravi Kahlon@KahlonRav

Honestly shocked. The BC Conservatives just voted to legalize discrimination based on race, sex and other characteristics. They have voted to stop other bills at first reading during this parliament, but not this one.

This is a great move by Florida to eliminate property tax. Property owners should not have to pay what feels like indefinite rent to a municipality, especially one that chooses ideology over essential services and then demands tax hikes to cover overspending. In Edmonton, they’re even looking at taxing patios, one of the few things people get to enjoy for a couple of months each year. Come on! I very much encourage blue-collar workers, tradespeople, small business owners, and experienced managers to run for city council. We should not have career bureaucrats and sociology majors running essential services like water, waste, and roads. Municipal government should be about core services and fiscal responsibility, not social experiments, not pet ideological projects, and not endless new fees layered onto residents and businesses. This isn’t complicated.

The people orchestrating this reckless, unsustainable mass immigration into Canada fill me with profound disgust. To deliberately engineer and champion such explosive, unmanageable population growth in your own nation? That’s the height of civic irresponsibility. Was it fueled by greed? Did they line their pockets while irrevocably straining our healthcare, education, and social safety nets? Or does their contempt for Canada’s core values and traditions drive them to flood our borders with millions from societies not built on the same foundations that have made us thrive? Why import from nations with failed systems when our Judeo-Christian heritage and principles have worked so well here? It almost feels like these elites are ashamed of what built this great country. This is a stark reminder of why Albertans, and indeed countless Canadians, harbor deep mistrust toward the Laurentian elite in Ottawa. They seem all too eager to prioritize their agendas over the well-being of the True North strong and free.

@joeydhansen Hmm? I would think having named candidates for each party would be a prerequisite to a process to decide between them. Mind you I get the concerns with the specifics of the process OC proposed.

@fabulavancouver I thought Councilor Maloney's motion was seconded by either Fry or Orr yesterday? Isn't that a joint motion?

From a few calls I've made, it seems like there is some kind of notable breakdown of co-operation among Vancouver's civic left parties, with Greens' Pete Fry announcing mayoral run and getting cheers from COPE and Bligh, joint motions with Fry and Orr from COPE but not OneCity.
