A driver plowed a Citroën at full speed into pedestrians on a crowded street in central Modena, Italy today
12 injured. A woman lost both legs on impact.
A bystander named Luca Signorelli ran to help her, then chased the driver when he fled.
The driver came out with a knife and slashed him twice.
Signorelli was still talking to reporters with blood dripping down his face.
The driver, described by the mayor as "apparently North African," is in custody being questioned.
