Getting to watch the sunrise from my porch is something I’m going to get used to… can’t wait for more.

@BlueLanternSol @MiStormChasers Hard disagree. Content theft is NEVER okay and we will not tolerate it, ever. Especially when it’s used as examples of unfounded conspiracy theories.

@MiStormChasers Bro stop. You're making your company/organization look terrible. Seriously. This coming from a long time subscriber and someone who loves your YouTube coverage. But this is a crazy take to have

Personal rant.. finally get prescribed medication today for a chronic condition after YEARS of fighting for it from doctors. Find out my insurance won’t cover it, so now I owe $1200 for a MONTHS supply of it. Thank goodness for GoodRX coupons 🫠

Some of this may be attributed to public perception of fake or hyped up forecasts. In today’s digital age you have anybody and their mother on Facebook generating AI forecasts and making “pretty color” maps, but most don’t even hold any weight in accuracy. A LOT and I mean a LOT of people get led astray by fake forecasts from content creators who couldn’t even spell the word meteorologist if you put them on the spot.
Hank Thomas@HankThomasDC

Feels like weather forecasting has actually gotten worse in the age of AI, not better. We can generate photorealistic videos from a prompt, but still can’t tell if it’s going to rain tomorrow.

@therobdale @kanzus75 It’s useless Rob. Some people just write off what they don’t understand as a conspiracy. Sad.

You mean contrails. They appear more frequently before weather events due to increasing moisture. Increased humidity in the upper levels = more persistent contrails. This is basic meteorology and has been around for YEARS.

@RyanWx_ Especially when the only clouds in the sky yesterday were coming from the back end of airplane flying in a fun tick tac toe pattern.

One of the most absurd snow forecasts we’ve ever made here at MSC, we’ve had to add an impromptu orange color for higher totals. Key Notes: •Snow begins to work into Michigan late tonight, but becomes more widespread during the early morning hours of Sunday. This snow continues through Tuesday morning for the UP, and becomes a snow/freezing rain/sleet mix for northern lower Michigan beginning Sunday afternoon/evening. •Winds will gust between 40-60mph statewide both on Sunday and Monday. •This will be a full on blizzard for much of the Upper Peninsula •Expect scattered power outages across the state •Travel will be near impossible for the UP and northern lower Snow totals will be between one and four FEET when all is said and done on Tuesday in the UP. Further south, a mix is expected which will keep accumulations lower, and also will provide a sharp cutoff of accumulations. The difference between a foot of snow and 2” may be the width of one county. Further south, this system will end as snow for lower Michigan on Tuesday, which is why we have a wide area within a trace to an inch, and western lower in a 1-3” zone with wording of higher totals possible. We may need to adjust totals here as new data comes clearer for Tuesday. Stay tuned for the icing portion of this forecast. Northern lower Michigan will see significant icing which is not shown or communicated in this forecast graphic or write up.
