@LoveRetroBTW There was a good mix of consoles amongst the people I knew back then. I had a Saturn, but friends had the others to cover PS1 and N64.

@Richie23360530 @LoveRetroBTW That was a bad year for the Jets. Started with Vinnie, who ruptured his Achilles in the first game. Next was Tom Tupa, who was their punter, but was a former QB. Then to Rick Mirer. All in that first game. Ray Lucas finished out the last half of the season. Utter chaos.

@LoveRetroBTW My favorite console of that generation. And a controller so good I bought a pair of Saturn style controllers made for PS2.

@Nintendork10 Never played it. But I do remember Nintendo Power naming the coverage in that issue as one of the magazine's biggest mistakes. That issue was published 6 months before the game's actual release due to a lengthy debugging period.

Anyone remember this underrated game?

@LoveRetroBTW Blown away by how well it played. Immediately became the standard for 3D platformers. Everything else that came before suddenly looked out of date.

@LoveRetroBTW Awkward. Cord out of the bottom, and it's got 2 fewer buttons than the Saturn. Dual analog was also on PS1 controllers a year before the Dreamcast, and Sega should have followed suit. However, VMUs and the window to see the screen did make for some interesting gameplay ideas.

What did you think of the Dreamcast controller?
