On the one hand Farage is a serial liar so got to question what he says. On the other hand, Sartori is mates with Methven so wouldn't be surprised. Either way, don't let him use our club to propagate his lies. You can't preach the importance of community and divide it like this.

So this man is now trying to divide football. He holds no respect for anything or anyone. Traditions, loyalties, cultures are irrelevant to him. He lives purely for personal gain. If he destroys communities, it pales into insignificance if he profits. He's NOT on your side.

Farage has ignored football for YEARS. Except of course when he opposed creating a new independent regulator to stand up for fans. But this week? Suddenly he’s at Ipswich. Now he’s talking about Sunderland. Why? Opportunism. It’s not about fixing the real problems in the sport; discrimination, clubs on the brink, or working-class families being priced out. It’s about himself, not the fans. And I’m absolutely sick of it.

Having that horrible Thatcherite bastard at our ground on the very soil where there was once a coal mine would be the biggest insult to the City of Sunderland and the wider community of the North East, wonder what happened to keeping politics out of football…

Chris Rigg & The whole of Sunderland after 10 minutes… Swipe right for 90 minutes 😉 Winning at St James’ Park… special. Knowing what it means to this city ❤️🤍 That makes it even bigger 🥹 But if I’m honest… I had to do it the hard way. 10 minutes in… mistake. And in that moment, you feel like the ground could swallow you up. Like you’ve let down a whole city. That feeling is real. And it’s horrendous. But this is where the work kicks in. For years I’ve worked on my mindset for moments like this and it’s something I now try to pass on to the young players we mentor through Inner Game Academy. Breathe. Self talk. Next action. Not “why did I do that?” Not “what are people thinking?” Just… next action. It all sounds simple in theory. Putting it into practice in moments like that is the hard part. Every player makes mistakes. The best players don’t dwell. They respond. I’m so proud of this team. They had my back when I needed it most. And after the error, they kept demanding from me and from each other relentlessly. To win it in the 90th minute at St James’… That’s one I will never forget ❤️🤍 P.s.
