Your post is so disconnected and disassociated from reality it’s insane. This is totally chaos, vehicles torched, highways blocked across states, airports in panic, tourists stranded and sheltering in place, shootouts everywhere after Mencho’s death. Calling it ‘not chaos’ is the real disconnect. That’s insane. We need to think better as Mexicans, this ain’t it.

We cannot honestly discuss violence in Mexico without acknowledging the United States’ role. The U.S. demand for drugs, the influx of U.S. weapons into Mexico, and cross-border money laundering all contribute to the conditions that enable this violence. What occurs here is not an isolated incident; it is the consequence of interconnected systems that span both countries. The United States has been destabilizing and disrupting countries and people by funding and arming various factions in conflicts and disseminating mass propaganda.

FYI Mexico has one legal gun store, run by the military, where civilians can only buy limited caliber firearms for home defense after passing strict background checks. The majority of the guns used by cartels are smuggled in from the United States. Those borders go both ways.

It is almost impossible to study the Mexican drug cartels in detail, especially CJNG and the old Los Zetas, without losing a bit of your humanity. I actually went through a period of depression during my PhD while researching what was really going on.
