@SandyofCthulhu Yeah, video games should be captivating first and foremost. Realism is captivating and can be used to great effect.

Well, if they can capture a breeding pair and set up a suitable enclosure, they're looking at HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS in licensing fees to loan out offspring to zoos worldwide. Kind of how China owns every panda in all of the zoos in the entire world. New national animal. How do you say "Jurassic Park" in Korean?

@HomieSanto DSP is the prime victim for this kind of game, to be fair.

I’ve noticed a pattern; when a decent game comes out that expects you to be curious, to be observant and to pay attention, a lot of tourists-turned-reviewers are the first to rage quit, refund, or low-grade that game. Some games aren’t for everyone, but I’m starting to think the pattern is made pretty clear by those who say they don’t like yellow paint, but absolutely need it.

After wasting 20 minutes slamming his head into a boss with nothing but starter gear, Phil concludes that Crimson Desert is not a good game and rage quits.

Crazy how even the “toughest” icons still end up facing the same human limits as everyone else. Moments like this really make you rethink what actually matters day to day.

@MartyMart1068 @TardiveT @romanhelmetguy The delivery would be the thing that has value, not the air itself. If a firefighter could go to me, buy a random bag of air and come back, he could bag the air himself at 0 cost and barely any effort.

@Rynfear @TardiveT @romanhelmetguy But there is no difference ... if you, somehow, could deliver common air to the firefighter in the same circumstances, it would be perfectly ethical, even admirable, for you to do so ... and there would be nothing wrong with you charging for it, no more than for the air tank

@MartyMart1068 @TardiveT @romanhelmetguy What they buy is the system that allows them to breathe air in dangerous circumstances. They don't buy the air itself. Nobody's running around bagging air and selling it to firefighters. Are you doing a bit? Being contrarian just for the sake of it?

But people DO ethically sell air to people in that circumstance ... the firefighters buy canned air so that they can breathe when they are in action ... if their air were to run out it would be perfectly ethical for the fire company to buy a full tank and pay someone's wages to deliver it

@MartyMart1068 @TardiveT @romanhelmetguy So you're saying the only way that air would have value would be in a situation where no one would be able to ethically sell it to you. Congrats. You just proved it has no value. Just like if everyone had a ton of flour.
