An online meeting took place today between the #NGIC and the UN-Habitat team to coordinate 13th World Urban Forum (#WUF13).

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Carlos Westendorp — a distinguished diplomat, a committed European, and above all, an exceptional friend. Carlos was more than a respected global statesman; he was a true friend of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center. His unwavering support, wisdom, and belief in dialogue and cooperation helped strengthen our mission of building bridges in a divided world. His presence brought dignity, intellect, and warmth to every conversation. His friendship brought trust and sincerity that we will always cherish. At NGIC, we mourn not only the loss of a remarkable public figure, but the loss of a dear friend. Our heartfelt condolences go to his family, loved ones, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his legacy of diplomacy, integrity, and friendship continue to inspire us all.
