Ok people, enough of Farago. Here's why I hate him. Eight years ago I could travel in Europe passport free, I could live in any country and work in any country and stay as long as I liked. Now I cannot. I can stay only three months in all of Europe. He effectively burned my passport. For that I will never forgive him.

@EthanRockStory Tricky philosophical point: as there is no sunlight down there for it to reflect, is the mantle really green? In fact, at several hundred degrees C it must glow dull red.

So, for all you #geology geeks out there (or the parents of young geology geeks)... seriously, we gotta stop coloring the mantle red in all the textbooks. Cuz it ain't red. It's GREEN! Watch the full episode here: youtu.be/vs1AKYIDlS0

The pay of university staff has fallen 26% in real terms in recent years. Now they face a 35% cut in their guaranteed pension too. No-one should be asked to accept this - solidarity with @ucu members taking action to defend their incomes.

Every word of this. The more damage he does to the country the more convinced I am this is how it must end when it does. With him and his fellow charlatans properly held to account.

There’s an excellent 40 minute online lecture on exoplanets by our new colleague @DrJoVian S283 students by now should be familiar with the principles already, but there’s nice background here and it’s all good for revision.
The Open University: School of Physical Sciences@OU_SPS

How to be an Exoplanet Detective New Lecturer in Astronomy, @DrJoVian's lecture is now available on our @YouTube channel. Suitable for A-level, and University students in science, physics and astronomy, and anyone else who likes exoplanets. youtu.be/UXgEMlRravM
