@A_Good_Handle @nikicaga It was pretty much an open secret, several powerful characters bring it up to the Lannisters. Point being, it's not as though Stannis has made this up

@SAINT_GVCCI @nikicaga we as the audience know this the wider world it is massively in dispute, and legally the systems in place still recognized joffery's claim as legitimate renly's point was stannis hadn't proven it and thus legally stannis was also usurping

@A_Good_Handle @nikicaga Stannis was the rightful King at that point though. Robert had no legitimate children therefore the eldest of his Brothers has the best claim

@SAINT_GVCCI @nikicaga ehhh, its fair IF you accept stannis' basis as correct, which renly correctly points out far from everyone does his claim is BARELY weaker than stannis' by all legal precedent stannis is also usurping, practically he throws in with stannis he loses the reach instantly

@SAINT_GVCCI @R_VonPoofton @EPM106 Which turns out to be a major mistake. The same with him trusting Theon. A recurring element of Catelyn's POV at this point in the story is that Robb is a child forced to make decisions that he doesnt understand the context behind or ramifications of.

@R_VonPoofton @EPM106 The Boltons were formed kings subjegated by the Starks. They rebelled multiple times and flayed Stark Kings alive. The Boltons are some of the least trustworthy bannermens the Starks have.

@Jtaylor0_3 Whether or not the average person practices the religion has no baring on whether or not we are a Christian country. We are by the way. England was founded as a Christian country by a Christian King, the state has an official Church. Members of the clergy sit in our legislature.

@AliceFromQueens Netanyahu is objectively the closest thing to a great man of history we have in thr modern day

I'm learning today how many men don't know what a "great man of history" is. They think Neil Armstrong qualifies. "Great man," historically, doesn't mean role model or hero. It doesn't mean "man we think is pretty great." Trump is much closer to a great man of history
Jerry Hathaway@etubruton

@nitbean @AliceFromQueens @circlemakerain but the whole point of the great man theory is supposed to be that they were *uniquely* able to accomplish whatever feat, i.e. if you swapped them out with someone else it wouldn't have happened. I feel like that's not at all the case with armstrong?

In the aftermath of the Kirk tragedy this country was going through a full blown revival. Church attendance was up, right wing factions that were usually infighting were coming together and morale was surprisingly high. Then Candace Owens, Ian Carroll, et al. poisoned the well. You can frame it as honest investigations into what actually happened to Kirk, but the way they've gone about it isnt even remotely honest or honorable. They continuously sling shit at the wall and just hope for something to stick while raking in tens of thousands of dollars, if not more. It can't be understated how subversive this group has been in the wake of what happened to Charlie and how they've worked relentlessly to destroy his legacy and life's work.

Look at this photo. Now look at your own children. While your kids are still in the cradle, their future earnings have already been earmarked to fund the "divine" lifestyle of the kids in this picture. Why does a 21st-century democracy accept that one family has a birthright to the sweat and blood of your unborn grandchildren? When did we agree that some children are born to be bowed to, and others are born to bow? #Monarchy #Taxpayers #Equality
