I am sad to report that the @WSSL_NYC is organizing to block potential shelter sites on public land. They are asking their members to state that weekend recreation is more important than sheltering the needy during a crisis. @openheartsnyc 1/n

The night is nearly over but the fight for #JustPay is not! Nonprofit leaders have been UP ALL NIGHT for human services workers outside City Hall. We won’t stop until @NYCMayor funds a 6.5% COLA and multi-year deal for human services workers!

What keeps us up at night!? The #JustPay fight! That’s why nonprofit leaders are up all night for human services workers outside City Hall. We need @NYCMayor to fund a 6.5% COLA and multi-year deal for our workers!

"When you’re proud of your work, when it’s beautiful, you’re motivated to work harder. Kids practice their gymnastics, practice their flute, practice their soccer skills because they want to be great. Not to be proficient. And I feel like that’s what school should be about."

“What if we could build schools full of teamwork and adventure, where we all get to the top of the mountain, instead of competing individually to get to the top first.” Our chat with noted educator and author Ron Berger. edutopia.org/article/ron-be…

I joined AM Hevesi, Sen. Montgomery, Assemblywoman Jaffee and 71 colleagues calling upon Gov. to release funding for the 2020 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). To not will leave thousands of at-risk youth across the state without work this summer. #FundYouthNYC & #SaveSYEP

Each year, NYC's Summer Youth Employment Program provides ~75,000 students with meaningful, paid work experience. Now more than ever, SYEP is not only a vital resource to communities hit hardest by COVID-19, but also key to our economic recovery. #SaveSYEP nytimes.com/2020/06/29/opi…

Explain to me where taking money from the nonprofits that pulled up to keep this city fed and cared for during the pandemic is a smart part of your recovery process, @NYCMayor? We need @NYCSpeakerCoJo and @NYCCouncil to pull through on this one
Sharon Levy@sharonlevym

Community based organizations that receive discretionary funding are the ones providing services to your neighbors AND employing them, not funding CBOs is a double whammy!!! ⁦@ymcanyc⁩ ⁦@NYCCouncilnydailynews.com/news/politics/…

@TeensTakeCharge I love your energy and I love your message “SYEP is not a cost , it’s an investment” and so I am honored to lead the fight to #fundyouthnyc
Teens Take Charge@TeensTakeCharge

When @NYCMayor chose to eliminate SYEP for 75,000 vulnerable youth, he said "we can't afford it." The mayor has it all wrong. SYEP is not a cost, it's an investment. Glad @CMDebiRose and colleagues will be fighting back today. #SaveSYEP #FundYouthNYC

Dear @NYCMayor, After food and shelter, afterschool, summer programs, and youth employment are essential. They allow parents to work, teens to help cover rent & food bills, and enable kids to develop skills to solve big problems. Please restore funding. #afterschoolisessential

@tarintowers It was ages ago, but I felt like I had TB for months. But it was different than a cold--felt like I was getting stuff out of my body, if that makes sense. Also possibly psychological experience, rather than reality. Good on you, by the way!

hey folks who have quit smoking or cut way down in the past, is it true you cough more as you work the gunk out of your system? (otherwise I 100% have the plague, as I’m sure you know)
