Is it God, or is it You?.. You might have seen your parents going to religious spots, praying for something they want for themselves or their family. Some of those wishes actually come true, and the more it happens, the deeper their faith develops for the God they worship in the form based on their religion and sect. Now, you might have wondered sometimes what actually happens - how come God actually delivers what you really want? This is a very common part of culture, full of stories of God delivering good health and wealth to so many people. That’s why you see people donate funds in temples; some of them even donate millions of dollars after getting their wish fulfilled. What’s at play here? Is divine intervention happening at these spots? Is God taking account of what we want, choosing candidates based on their degree of faith, and delivering to them at different timeframes? Or is it just humans growing an illusion of God doing their work, while in reality, they are the ones putting in the maximum effort to achieve what they wish for? In the most practical sense - at least that’s what I believe - faith kills fear, doubt, and insecurity. When you’re free from doubts, fear, and insecurity, you can actually focus more on any subject you pick in life or any problem you want to solve. You find your way to the solution, and those problems are the same ones that made you worried before you went to a temple. But after you visited and surrendered your problems to a form of God, you felt relieved since you have faith that God will take care of you - much like how a toddler can even jump from a building if he feels like it when he sees his mother around. He feels safe; he feels home. So, most of us have evolved to feel safe when we are around a place where God is worshipped, and our faith in God is so deeply rooted that it could actually help you lead a good life when you don’t run logic in the leap of faith. Your logical mind could give you reasoning to solve any problem, and you could even get closer to the solution, but you couldn’t kill the fear. Even when you see 100% clarity towards your path to solve a problem, you will always have a sense of failure, and that acts as a psychological barrier to achieving the result you’re seeking. When you’re logical, you always want to see a result in a certain form, but that’s not how faith works. When you’re faithful, you could even be satisfied with part of what you wanted from God; you would be fulfilled, and you’ll show gratitude too. But the problem with faith is that, even if you know God is taking care of all of us, you see a divide in the sons and daughters of God. You never miss a chance to get more from God, and you actually want others to suffer while you blossom. That’s your ego, which eventually puts you into a constant loop of suffering - shaking your faith eventually, and rising fear, doubts, and insecurities in you. In the end, even faith can be a powerful thing for human beings, and it can move life, but it becomes a paradox at those times when we take it for granted. We grow an ego around us when we see our faith delivering results, eventually getting deeper into suffering and asking God to save us. But God won’t save you from that because it was never God who delivered what you wanted at the start when you developed strong faith. It was all you at the right time, and place - without the ego, with devotion, with an open heart, with sheer curiosity, with right intention, with humanity, without fear, without doubts. You had the clarity to solve a problem, so you did that. But when you started growing the image of the "doer," drifting away from faith in God, you found yourself always worrying, burnt out, and dissatisfied, even when you’re growing big in material success.
