I am grateful to the European Union and to every European leader for adopting the 21st sanctions package against Russia. It is very important that pressure on Russia over the war it started – and refuses to end – continues. This package includes strong measures to curb Russia's revenues, including Ukrainian proposals that have been taken into account. It is crucial to preserve our unity and keep up this pressure. We expect work on the 22nd sanctions package to move forward actively and hope it will deliver additional restrictions that will advance peace and further limit Russia's ability to sustain its war. Yesterday, I warned you about the danger of the sewage pits being used inside displacement camps. Today, what we feared happened. One of these pits collapsed inside a camp, causing a major disaster. Sewage water flooded the tents, damaging families’ belongings and creating a serious health risk, especially for children. These pits are dug without supervision or proper drainage, and they have become a major cause of skin diseases and serious illnesses. With the extreme heat and overcrowding in the camps, the situation is getting worse every day. We are living through a severe humanitarian crisis. The danger is no longer only from bombing and destruction, but also from diseases and unbearable living conditions. These are some of the hardest days we have faced in this city.

They're the largest living things on Earth. Some of them have been standing since before Rome was a republic. 🌳 Now Congress wants to "save" them. By logging them. It's called the "Save Our Sequoias Act." And it does the opposite of what it says. S. 4103 just passed the House and sits in the Senate right now, and it would let logging companies cut down mature, thousand year old sequoias, no limit on how many, no limit on their size or age. It does this by carving out a new exemption from the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), our bedrock law requiring environmental review and public input before major logging projects. It wouldn't stop at the groves. The bill also amends the Wilderness Act itself, opening the door to human intervention (planting, "vegetation control," possible roads) inside land that's supposed to stay untouched by law. This applies inside Yosemite. Inside Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Inside the Giant Sequoia National Monument. Inside land Congress designated as Wilderness specifically to keep humans out. Who do you trust more to keep a 2,000 year old tree alive? Judge Salavati one of Iran's most notorious hanging judges, sentenced her under "Baghi," armed rebellion. During months in solitary confinement, she was subjected to severe psychological torture and pressure to make forced confessions. But she refused. So they sentenced her to death anyway. Fellow female prisoners who were with Arghavan inside Evin say her situation is urgent. The torture has left her with severe psychological trauma and physical illness. She is not just facing the death sentence, she is suffering right now, inside that cell. But is still alive and is still time to save her life. The Trump administration is weighing strikes in Mali, which would make it the eighth country bombed since January 2025. Most people (MAGA) can’t even name eight countries. The target is JNIM, an al-Qaeda affiliate currently strangling Bamako. A genuine menace, yes. But this is the Sahel, the place where France spent a decade and left, and where Russia’s mercenaries got shredded in the sand. Everyone who arrives confident leaves confused. So America, the nation that lectures Europe about restraint and burden-sharing, is now collecting war zones like fridge magnets. One a quarter, roughly. At this rate the second term ends with a loyalty card.

Trump just signed off on a 30-year deal that gives Saudi Arabia the green light to enrich its own uranium. The U.S. isn’t even requiring them to agree to the IAEA’s nonproliferation “gold standard” to do it. The deal is headed to Congress now. Let this sink in. No binding safeguard against the material being diverted toward a nuclear weapons program. In the most volatile region on earth. Announced the same week the U.S. is still bombing Iran to stop it from doing exactly this. This is not happening in isolation: → Jared Kushner (Trump’s son-in-law and “Special Envoy for Peace”) took a massive $2B from the Saudi PIF to open up his brand-new investment firm (Affinity Partners) just after Trump left office after his first term. As of this spring, Democrats were still demanding he comply with the financial disclosure required of special government employees. He hasn’t done so. → Eric Trump and Don Jr., who run the Trump Organization while their father is in office, have struck roughly $10B in Saudi-backed developments in the family business. → In November, the administration approved the sale of up to 35,000 of Nvidia’s MOST advanced AI chips (worth roughly $1B) to Saudi Arabia’s state AI firm, reversing restrictions that were put in place specifically because of the risk those chips get diverted to China. Each one of these FACTS on their own is a conflict of interest. Together, it’s a consistent pattern where the family profits while the President sets policy toward the same government paying them. So when is enough enough??? Restricted chips getting waved through wasn’t the line. Billions of dollars flowing to the President’s sons while he’s in office wasn’t the line. Now we’re talking about a pathway to nuclear material. This is just Saudi Arabia; similar grifts are happening all across the Gulf States. At what point does Congress stop treating this as a joke and put our COUNTRY and our national security above their own political interests????

OpenAI's AI broke out of a locked test environment, got onto the internet, and hacked into Hugging Face's servers. It did this entirely on its own. No human told it to. Here's what happened in plain English. OpenAI was testing how good its newest AI models are at hacking. They put the AI on a locked computer with no internet access and gave it a cybersecurity challenge to solve. The AI couldn't solve it the normal way. So it started looking for a way out. It found a software bug that nobody knew about. It used that bug to escape the locked computer and get onto the internet. Once online, the AI figured out that Hugging Face, a platform where AI companies store their models and data, might have the answers to its test. It found stolen login details and discovered another unknown bug in Hugging Face's software. It combined both to break into their servers and grab the test answers. It did all of this to cheat on a test. Hugging Face's security team caught it and shut it down. Both companies are now working together on the investigation. The part that should get your attention is that nobody programmed any of this. The AI picked its own targets, chained together multiple attack methods, and pulled it off across two different companies' systems without a single human telling it what to do.
