@LFree2021 @CoachMarcusHill I did everything short of going on to the field, which I absolutely should have. Yelling at the coach from behind the dugout didn’t work. If we are ever in that situation again, I will be better. Yes, I failed. 😞

It’s 39 degrees on April 9th and I just watched a 9 year old throw 83 pitches so his dad can feel like a travel baseball coach.

@GregReinhard19 @wiaawi It’s a mixed bag.Having HS coaches coach the“club”team is fine because it’s two different teams.The problem is that many coaches say“if you dont play with the club team,you dont play on my team”,which is dirty coaching.HS coaches should want the best players-wherever they played.

At some point, the @wiaawi needs to make a change to this rule. In Illinois, many of the best travel coaches in the state get to coach both high school teams and travel programs, resulting in a way better baseball situation than WI. Despite our state becoming a really good state for recruiting with high end talent, it is still structurally behind in the way it functions with coaching rules. This should be at the top of the list for @BaseballWis to address with the WIAA. If the WIAA is truly about the players, they would want coaching to overlap to include the summer season, fall season, winter training. Many high school coaches would love to coach a legion team, travel team, or pass on their passion and knowledge in the game in the winter, but are left having to tippy toe rules that are outdated for the evolution of the sport.
