@SCATDAO He did not. He claims that if a company assigns a resource to a project on a full-time basis, the project must cover the full cost of that resource, not only its salary.

@SCATDAO @jazzwhistle @BeRewt Not stating something doesnt mean it wasnt budgeted, and I'm also not defending it. I am against covering full-time wages at industry standard using treasury. That said simply put its illegal in most, if not all, EU countries for employers not to cover these, its not a benefit.

It's not academic, but private research, which is usually more expensive. But let start from there. Add the benefits cost (usual industry ratio 70/30) so roughly x1.42. Add the Facilities & Administrative (F&A), the lowest I found is the NIH, at 28% (x1.28) 108k* 1.42*1.28=196K

@SCATDAO @jazzwhistle @BeRewt Oh, definitely not. We were previously underpriced on purpose. We also were "part time", busting 80+ hours a week but subsidized by day jobs vs being fully dedicated to Cardano. Now, it's fewer hours but more focused. This pace is sustainable.

@ItsDave_ADA @BeRewt I guess if you are assuming that a big company like IOG has zero other sources of revenue and 100% of what they are bringing in is coming from ADA. And then none do that is being held by institutions or being sold OTC. And zero expenses are in cash 🙄

@SCATDAO @jazzwhistle @BeRewt Our proposal was a budget bid, not a line item invoice. It includes the full costs of development, not only direct employee compensation, from insurance to taxes. Otherwise, we would be unable to actually complete the work for the money requested.

@SCATDAO You don't need to know this to understand the point, and I don't get why you think it's silly. We don't talk about rent, we talk about employer cost. If a company allocates a resource full time to a project, the project has to pay for the company full cost.

@BeRewt I honestly don't know how IOG makes their money or what they spend it on. They do not release audited financial statements so that along with how much ADA they sold or kept is a mystery. But yes, I think expecting treasury to pay their FTE health insurance or rent is silly.

The average cost per headcount for the IOG research proposal is at less than 220k. It includes world class researchers and awesome engineers. It covers their overhead. I know it’s quite a cost. But it’s definitely competitive.

@InputEndorsers I think EF is clearer in what they actually do and the benefit they try to provide. Empowering doesn't really mean anything specific and providing blackchain solutions for enterprises sounds like what Emurgo was supposed to be doing.
