In honor of Black History Month, our staff gathered for an inspiring luncheon to listen, learn and celebrate. We’re so grateful for our colleagues who shared their personal experiences and career journeys.

Our Deputy Chiefs of District Courts and Emerging Adult Program (EAP) coordinator recently joined our partners and More Than Words youth for an engaging discussion about the Emerging Adult Program, life experiences and how we can continue building trust in the criminal justice system.

DA Hayden was honored to speak at the Moakley Federal Courthouse this week to celebrate Black History Month and the extraordinary career of retired Associate Justice Julian Houston and his work on the historical exhibit “Long Road to Justice.” SCDAO staff joined students and the legal community for an evening of meaningful dialogue and connection.

DA Hayden had a great time ringing in the Year of the Horse with community leaders and residents at CCBA Boston’s New Year Banquet. It was a joyful evening filled with celebration, performances and traditions.

Yesterday, the Governor’s Council to Address Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and Human Trafficking released its Five-Year Statewide Plan to Address Sex Trafficking.  The plan provides Massachusetts with a clear roadmap to prevent exploitation, strengthen survivor supports and hold exploiters accountable. Secretary Gina Kwon thanked survivors, advocates and partner agencies who made this work possible and emphasized that survivors should never have to navigate this alone. Today, our office proudly recognized two young adults who successfully completed the Emerging Adult Program (EAP). Through their dedication and commitment along with the support of court personnel, community partners and loved ones - these graduates exemplify the opportunity for meaningful and positive change. EAP is an initiative of District Attorney Hayden that launched in Dorchester in February 2025 and is now available in all BMC courts. In collaboration with community organizations - including More Than Words, ROCA, MGH Center for Law, Brain & Behavior, and Charlestown Adult Education, the program offers alternative traditional prosecution for young adults ages 18-25 in Suffolk County.
