@SCDwiar I really had faith that I was meant to keep writing, and with this book in particular, I knew whether in a year or two or ten, it would make it eventually. Giving up is a guarantee of no success, but trying means there’s always a chance.

Today I was reminded of these agent rejections I got on what is now Silent Sister. Within a month, one of the biggest kidlit agents made an offer to represent me. She then went on to sell the book within weeks to a Big 5 pub for more than I’d dreamed.

@BrittonBookGeek Small steps create space to feel a little bit of discomfort in doing something new. The more small steps you take, the more comfortable you feel in that discomfort. Over time, the space will get bigger. And so will your new skill in talking about you. Go slow, you can do it

For most of the time I’ve been writing I’ve been quite secretive about it and I’m really shy when taking about myself but now people seem to want me to talk about my writing and I don’t know how to not be an awkward mess 🫠 Any tips for talking about my books without cringing? 😬
