For 3 years, Muneza* was out of school due to disability-related challenges and stigma. Through the Zero OOSC project’s campaign #UmwanaWeseYige awareness campaign, he was identified, supported with an Individual Education Program, and is now thriving in Primary One.

🔴La contribution du projet « BAKURE NEZA », ne se limite pas seulement à ses résultats en matière de la protection des enfants, cibles faciles d’exploitations, de la traite, du travail des enfants, de violences et les défis liés à l’enregistrement des naissances directement auprès des enfants. 🔹Au cours de sa mise en œuvre, ce projet a aussi contribué à revitaliser plus de 200 communautés de protection d’enfance, fait bénéficier de ses interventions à plus de 15 000 personnes adultes dans la communauté, soit des réalisations atteignant plus de 300% des résultats et de l'objectif initial. 💬« Ce projet BAKURE NEZA a démontré que la protection de l'enfant est plus efficace lorsqu'elle repose sur une collaboration étroite entre l'État, la société civile et les communautés. Sa clôture ne marque pas une fin, mais plutôt une transition vers la consolidation des acquis et la poursuite des efforts pour garantir à chaque enfant burundais un environnement sûr, protecteur et respectueux de ses droits », a affirmé Mme Colette, Directrice de la Protection de l’enfant au @MiniJustice_BDI 🔹Mme Laura DOMINGUEZ PIRES, cheffe du projet BAKURE NEZA , a salué le dévouement et l’abnégation des OCSs ayant pris part au projet. Tout en les exhortant à travailler sur les acquis du projet. With the support of @StatePRM and @RefugeesRwanda, 76 patients with mental health issues in #MahamaRC joined reintegration activities, 62 reintegrated fully, with income-generating activities to support their family needs. More funding can help more families rebuild their lives.

According to Sadam, taking the extra mile means identifying, enrolling, and ensuring children succeed in school. His support has brought 97 children back to school. He follows up by monitoring attendance and encourages children through community engagement and small incentives.
