When exercising stop-and-search powers, they MUST identify themselves properly, including name or number and station. This isn’t about being “anti-police.” This is about the rule of law — the same law the police claim to uphold. A badge, a uniform, a vest — none of these replace lawful identification. And in a time when trust in policing is collapsing, refusing to identify yourself only fuels suspicion.
