@BowinnMa @JamesBRoberts In March of 2020 @SCRAPIT_BC prepared & submitted a detailed proposal for an income-tested program in BC for electric vehicles, with scrap or not option, we could consider an electric bike component under the same umbrella. Looking forward to hearing from @BruceRalston

@JamesBRoberts We fund a @SCRAPIT_BC program for e-bikes and recently removed PST (7%) from all e-bike sales. Some of the advocacy groups recommended consideration of an income-tested grant program. Very interesting; we're working on a suite of improvements and will update as things land.

I *do* thank ppl who 🚴. They reduce car congestion, help reduce transport'n GHGs, pay their taxes. Over the last couple months I met w dozens of #ActiveTransportation groups. Not one asked for the complete elimination of cars; they just want cyclists to not be killed by them.

Average cyclist: we'd like functional infrastructure that's reasonably safe and less bike theft. Bike lobby: anything less than the complete or near complete elimination of cars isn't good enough, we shouldn't have to contribute in any way, & you should thank us for our choice.
