@SCobanMune Implement standardized biopsy training programs for embryologists to ensure consistency in technique; conduct regular competency assessments to maintain skill levels; monitor biopsy outcomes per embryologist ( e.g. inconclusive diagnosis rate) #ESHREjc

#ESHREjc Q2. Authors have found an effect on clinical outcomes when double biopsy 🧬🧬 and double ❄️❄️ was performed. 🌀What are the sources of amplification failure from a genetics🧬/embryological background❓️❓️ @ESHRE

@alteri_ale @GLiperis A 2a biopsy should be avoided unless absolutely necessary. It’s not just about removing more cells but also about taking them from a different area of the TE, which may be less likely to support implantation. This could further compromise the embryo’s ability to implant. #ESHREjc

Biopsy KPIs are essential but should clinical outcomes become a part of it? 👇🏻 #ESHREjc
Alessandra Alteri@alteri_ale

@SCobanMune It’s essential to establish KPIs for biopsy e. g. inconclusive diagnosis rate (<5% according to ESHRE PGT recommendations), survival rate post warming and then?should we also include clinical pregnancies and miscarriage rates? #ESHREjc

@AttilioDGM7 @GLiperis However, if an embryologist takes too many cells (which means the inconclusive diagnosis rate will be 0%, and the blastocyst will likely survive), this blastocyst will have a compromised implantation potential. How can we monitor these events? #ESHREjc

🎯Embryologists and lab technicians are continually trained on the latest techniques and technologies. 🎯Regular training is important for vitrification, biopsy, and genetic testing can improve the consistency and success rates of the procedures.#eshrejc

🥼Implement routine audits and quality control checks on equipment, protocols, and practices to identify areas for improvement. This can help reduce the risk of errors, such as double vitrification or amplification failures. 🥼Trainning the Embryologist👀 #eshrejc

Embryo quality here is a key one. Two biopsies of a C grade trophectoderm biopsy is a much bigger proportion of an embryo than 2 of grade A! #eshrejc

@kashish__ @ESHRE I would also add quality of the cells obtained from the biopsy. Excluded cells from the blastocyst that tend to degenerate might not get a signal. The ‘sight’ of zona opening can make a difference #ESHREjc
