@whatsundersteer Buddy clearly doesn’t watch nascar. Or at the very least, doesn’t understand what nascar used to be. Nascar’s appeal are the wrecks. Especially to new fans. I enjoy a long run just as much as a short run, but if the whole race goes with zero wrecks, that’s a boring race.

If you call yourself a Nascar fan, yet you celebrate short runs, you’re not a nascar fan. And I’ll extend that to all forms of oval/road racing.
