@OuchThatMHz @ChrisPacia No good guy points. No realistic scenario which everyone hits red. Accounting for accidental blue presses, virtue signaling blues, ignorant blues, colorblind blues etc… that’s a lot. Amazon same day delivery will be gone so take me out too.

The premise of "everyone in the world" is meant to compel your choice, not to add moral ambiguity. There are only two types of blue-pushers: People who don't understand, and those willing to potentially die in order to save them. Within the context of the question, there is no rational reason to push blue other than assigning yourself "hypothetical good-guy points".

One more attempt at articulating why the red button pushers view the blue button pushers as so irrational. Let's say your options are this: Red Button: Nothing happens to you. Blue Button: Kills you instantly. If everyone is confronted with that choice, why would anyone push the blue button? Would we not expect 100% of people to push the red button? Now if you change the terms and add a proviso that the blue button pushers will be spared if a majority of people push the blue button, wouldn't your reaction be: "Ok, well. We've already established that nobody's going to push to Blue Button so this shouldn't change anything for anyone". If your reaction suddenly becomes "Omg we need to organize a campaign to get everyone to push the blue button and you're Hitler if you push red" ... Its like.. um what?

@OuchThatMHz @ChrisPacia The question includes the knowledge of everyone else on earth choosing though. I don’t think it’s a moral insertion to think about them when told it will also affect them. Slim chance all hit red and I dont think ppl not finding the same game thry decision I cld deserve to die.

Within the context of the question, there is no value in thinking altruisticly. Why would a person insert a moral imperative where none exists? The question is presented in such a way that a person who manufactures an unnecessary moral obligation becomes the most likely to die (other than the statistically inept).

@RhjPatrick @ChrisPacia For me that burden and risk is the point of the… discussion? Thought experiment? Red makes sense to us because there is a clear outcome. I work with people everyday and they’re awful at following understanding directions. I don’t think there’s a scenario where everyone hits red.

@SELVIGZD @ChrisPacia For the color, blind, etc, a proxy should be appointed to vote for that person. And that proxy should press the red button. Why place the risk of death on a person who is unable to choose?

@OuchThatMHz @ChrisPacia I don’t disagree. My self preservation instinct is red. If I use the electric tofu in my skull past my own instincts I can see that Blue is the only realistic scenario where everyone has a chance to live.

@hale1914 @nolapools Fair point. I forgot he mentioned planets in the video. There are seasonal stars (only seen during their season) and circumpolar stars that are visible all year. What our friend in the video hasn’t bothered to do is track those circumpolar stars to watch them shift over time.

@SELVIGZD @nolapools I mean I know that and your right stars don’t orbit. I’m just saying all the other planets do. The stars are extremely far from each other so no matter what side of the sun we are on we can still see the same constellations of stars

@BoerinBlock @nolapools I think what you’re saying is perfect… if you live on the poles. The stars do shift throughout the year, it’s just gradual.

@nolapools No we are looking up and up is always the same, the South Pole and the vast oceans may look a bit down and that is the reason for why we always look at the same stars in the north and always at the same stars in the south The polarity makes the earth always look up

@Bafre5ek @nolapools Stars don’t rotate, we do. Stars shift in our perspective throughout the year contrary to what the video suggests. It’s not a magnetic force, it’s gravity.

@nolapools Bc they all rotate along with the earth as the sun is the magnetic force maintaining that particular solar system

@UVAhoopsfan @ElxPapiLokox91 @nolapools Science often contradicts science. If they teach you something and tell you “now you’re educated and smart” and mostly the things they teach you are verifiably true, all they have to do is sprinkle in their propaganda about things that are not easily verifiable and you’ll believe

@hale1914 @nolapools The other stars don’t orbit our star. The earth is actually further away from the sun during the warmer months in the northern hemisphere.

@nolapools Because they orbit too smh. Secondly, during the warmer months we are the closest to the sun. Lastly, I believe in God and know that both goes hand in hand
