🇬🇷 Greece: Europe’s Chronic Headache, Unreliable Ally, and Systematic Burden Greece is a permanent burden on the European Union and NATO a country that milks billions in taxpayer money while engaging in organized fraud, endemic corruption, and even selling alliance secrets to adversaries. Here are the hard facts, scandals, and figures to tell everyone: 1. Organized Fraud on EU Funds Greece is one of the largest net recipients of EU money (roughly 2–4 billion euros per year in agricultural and structural funds), yet it systematically loots them. • OPEKEPE Agricultural Funds Mega-Scandal (2018–2026, still ongoing): Fake land, fake animals, and forged lease contracts were used to steal tens to hundreds of millions of euros. Real farmers didn’t get the money politically connected “farmers,” MPs, and officials did. • 37+ arrests • 11 MPs had immunity lifted (mostly from the ruling New Democracy party) • Multiple ministers resigned, government reshuffled twice • EU imposed a record €392 million fine on Greece • European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) investigations in Greece exploded: 175+ cases, €2.68 billion in suspected damage. OPEKEPE has become synonymous with nepotism, clientelism, and outright theft. Northern European taxpayers (Germans, Dutch, Scandinavians) pay the bill while Greek elites pocket the cash. Greece’s debt-to-GDP ratio remains over 160%, and real reforms are mostly on paper. 2. Selling NATO Secrets A Serial Security Risk Greece is a NATO member but repeatedly sells alliance secrets to enemies. • 1986–1987 Soviet Scandal: Greek officials and engineers sold Stinger missile plans and other NATO weapon system secrets to the Soviets. This seriously compromised NATO’s southern flank during the Cold War. Multiple arrests followed, but the pattern continued. • 2026 China Scandal (very recent): Greek Air Force Colonel Christos Flessas (54) was arrested. He sold highly classified NATO information technologies, aircraft movements, and developing systems to China. • Used encrypted software provided by Chinese intelligence • Received €5,000–15,000 per piece of information • Traveled secretly to China • Caught thanks to CIA tip-off; confessed; faces life imprisonment. A NATO member selling secrets to China? That directly endangers the entire alliance. 3. Deep-Rooted Corruption Culture • Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index 2025: Greece scored 50 points, ranking 56th out of 182 countries one of the worst in the EU. • 97% of Greeks believe corruption is widespread (highest rate in the EU). • Classic practices: “fakelaki” (bribe envelopes), tax evasion as a “national sport,” Golden Visa money laundering, Siemens and Novartis mega-bribes, Predator spyware scandal (illegal surveillance of journalists, politicians, and even ministers). Clientelism (“the state is mine”) dominates every party. The system is built to reward insiders and punish reformers. Why Greece Is Everyone’s Headache Greece takes money and protection from the West (EU funds + NATO umbrella) but gives back fraud, betrayal, and broken promises. Real farmers protest in the streets while the connected elite get rich. The 2009–2010 debt crisis nearly destroyed the eurozone. Now they’re draining funds and selling secrets. This isn’t emotional nationalism it’s documented by: • Official EPPO reports • EU fines • Court records • Reuters, Politico, Guardian, and Greek media (Kathimerini) Europeans have every right to ask: “Greece again?” Bottom line: Greece is Europe’s luxury burden. It weakens the EU budget, undermines NATO security, and shows why unconditional solidarity in alliances can be dangerous. Taxpayers especially in Northern Europe should demand real accountability, not more blank checks.

Sebuah curahan hati pilu datang dari warga Kabupaten Kolaka. Mereka mengeluhkan dugaan eksodus Tenaga Kerja Asing (TKA) asal China yang datang hampir setiap hari ke kawasan industri nikel PT Indonesia Pomalaa Industry Park (IPIP). Diduga Pintu bagi pekerja asing terbuka lebar, warga lokal justru merasa dipersulit dan menghadapi tembok besar saat ingin bekerja di daerahnya sendiri. Warga tidak menolak investasi. Namun, warga menuntut keadilan. Investasi yang masuk seharusya menyejahterakan masyarakat sekitar, bukan malah meminggirkan mereka di tanah kelahiran sendiri.
