If these were actual bush fires there'd be outrage. But because they're "planned burns" apparently its ok the raze the countryside. Anyone with any kind of lung condition like me is suffering right now because of the smoke as well. And there's no evidence it prevents bushfires

Advice: Pacific Hwy Fire, Nerong (Mid Coast). Crews and aircraft are working to contain a bush fire in Myall Lakes NP area, south of Nerong. Smoke will be visible. No threat to property, but residents in Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest and Nerong area should monitor conditions. #RFS

The NSW Police Force has been made aware some older Apple devices are currently experiencing issues connecting to the Telstra network where they may not be able to make or receive phone calls, including emergency calls to 000 (Triple-Zero). Devices that may be impacted include: - iPhone 8 updated to iOS16.7.13 - iPhone 8 Plus updated to iOS16.7.13 - iPhone X updated to iOS16.7.13 Telstra recommend users of these Apple devices delay updating the software on their device until the issue is resolved. More information is available here: telstra.com.au/exchange/iphon… A reminder Triple Zero should only be called in an emergency situation – affected users are urged not to try calling Triple Zero, unless there is a life-threatening emergency.

Well done @SydneyWaterNews turning our water supply off without notifying us. So, we have no water until, hopefully, 3.30pm. Not even a chance to fill up the bath or put water in the fridge or kettle. Can't even flush the toilet. Isn't there some requirement to let ppl know?

On New Years Day every year I proudly celebrate #AustraliaDay as this is day in 1901 when 6 states federated to create our nation & celebrations were held in every community. Today I note 26 January as historic day when #Britain founded a colony here on land they did not own.

Did you know that here in Australia, our main energy grid is already powered by more than 40% renewable energy? More wind and solar power backed by storage is the fastest way to bring down power bills, and the only way to secure a safer future. So let’s keep at it! 💚💚💚

I was at the memorial last night. The narrative isn’t quite accurate regarding the PM’s reception. Yes, there was booing, but it was all down the front where the cameras were. I was a bit further up, and it wasn’t like that at all. Pt 1.

In his rush to create an allusion that he is doing something Premier @ChrisMinnsMP uses a bingo card to determine the number of firearms that individuals can acquire without any reference to the logic of behind the number. #cowlotto

Police are aware of an unauthorised gathering planned for Prince Alfred Park today (Sunday 21 December 2025) and are urging people not to attend. A Form 1 was submitted by the organiser on Wednesday 17 December 2025; however, it was not supported by police, and subsequent negotiations were unsuccessful. As a result, the organiser has not obtained authorisation for the assembly under Part 4 of the Summary Offences Act 1988. Without this authorisation, the event is not legally protected as an authorised assembly and individuals who choose to attend may be liable for obstruction and unlawful assembly offences. The NSW Police Force recognises that this is not a time for public gatherings that may heighten tension or create additional risks to community safety. Operation Shelter will coordinate a significant policing response to any large-scale public gatherings at this time. Anyone planning to attend these unauthorised events is urged to reconsider.

Statement from NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon APM: This afternoon and into the evening, there will be a heightened police presence in Bondi and the surrounding areas under Operation Shelter. I want to reassure the community that this does not reflect a heightened security alert. We know how deeply this tragedy has impacted Jewish families, friends, and the wider community who stand with them. Our priority is ensuring that everyone can come together to honour the victims and support one another without fear. You will see more officers than usual, including some carrying long-arm firearms. While our priority is keeping the community safe, it is equally about helping people feel safe as they come together to grieve. Tonight is about standing with the community, safeguarding the space for a respectful vigil, and ensuring everyone feels supported during this incredibly difficult time.
