@nextlevelbb I get it. Qab is a player stat. Ground ball the other way to move them over, coach and coachability stat. Maybe there should be an “execute the play” stat.

Leadoff double. Next hitter lines out to the 3rd baseman at 105 mph. Is that a quality at bat? First two hitters of an inning walk. The next hitter lines out on the first pitch to the CF at 110 mph and runners don't advance. Is that a quality at bat?

Working on controlling the forward move, lower half stability.

Spent a lot of time this offseason working on agility, lateral quickness, and using better footwork to attack groundballs to throw in rhythm with momentum to first. @RichmondBraves @ZBiermann45 @ADAPTCville

Why not mandate freshmen redshirt for all baseball programs and guarantee a graduate a year. So effectively eliminate the roster spots for all freshmen, and this will get back at least one year they are losing to older portal transfers. Basically let a full year of older players cycle out of the system. Let the freshmen bodies get bigger, train at the college level. Also, 8 semesters of active roster college play at any level.

Had this conversation with a high school right handed pitcher. He asked what he would have to do to sign with a P5 out of high school and have a chance to pitch as a freshman. Option A Pitch 90-95 (not touch, but actually pitch 90-95). Throw close to 70% strikes. A plus secondary pitch thrown for strikes with command. An average third pitch thrown for strikes with command. Be able to control the running game and field position. Those things would also make option A, a very good draft prospect. Players that are deciding between signing a pro contract and attending school are the players that have the highest percent chance to actually pitch as a freshman. Or Option B Pitch upper 8's with plus control, plus command, plus moxie, plus feel and an uncanny knack to add and subtract. Control the running game and field position. Option A and Option B Should absolutely dominate high school and travel ball competition. P5 schools are recruiting experienced mid major and non P5 D1 pitchers out of the portal. They're also recruiting the best of the best juco pitchers. They don't need or want freshman development projects.
