What could’ve been different with the General Budget bill instead of going with Democrat requests: 1. Remove 13 of 26 of the expanded FTE's to agencies. [page 55, look for FTE: 26] 2. Re-allocate $150,000 of DANR money to the "Property Tax Relief Fund", instead of putting $150,000 of the $350,000 HEMP program elimination towards lame "Program Costs" [page 11, line 12] 3. Reduce Department of Tourism's budget for "marketing" by $103,000 by changing $550,427 to $447,746 which aligns their marketing at 4.4% matching the states projected growth rather than an arbitrary 5.2% [page 14, line 35] 4. Do not give SDPB more money this year. They already have $5.6M. We tried to bring an amendment for this. [page 8, line 15] 5. Do not increase more TANF funds by removing $427,000. Temporary Aid for Needy Families is already well funded. [page 18, line 17] 6. Reduced-Price School Meals - reduce or remove $592,224 to half or zero. If this was done it would’ve defunded HB1082 which was a policy that was passe. [page 31, line 17] Even small, $100,000 amendments, to decrease the budget were brought in appropriations committee but they were completely disregarded.

I asked Thune if that vote will be at a 60-vote threshold. His response: “We're discussing the manner and process by which it comes the floor.”
