(1/2) Beautiful day at @jeaNorCal #norcalmediaday. Rode my bike to Caltrain to the most beautiful high school journalism space in the Bay Area, led a session with staff from great student publications the Eastside Panther, @elestoque @HarkerAquila and @GraniteBayToday, and

I’m stoked to lead a session at 12:30pm this Saturday at @jeaNorCal #norcalmedia :) who else is gonna be there?! Excited to connect with great student publications like @thelowell and student advocates like @chicanochico

It’s local journalism awards season! @SPJ_NorCal deadline is this Wednesday and @SF_PressClub is mid October. I’d love to see more neighborhood news and college news submissions! See you at the award parties :)

@BrokeAssStuart Maybe I have a soft spot for tiny local education nonprofits, but I hope we aren’t tearing down the few orgs trying to help public schools, at a time when local education reporting has really let San Franciscans down. Better reporting could have helped us avoid this situation too

I investigated the Yellowstone Club, a private resort in Montana where ultra-wealthy business leaders and celebrities own homes. Last summer, I hiked three miles up the Gallatin River where I found wastewater pouring into the river from the club’s golf course. 🧵
