Hi. It makes a little easier if you wear your kook on your sleeve. Anti-vaxer, science denier, flat-earther, whatever? Put it right on your profile with pride!

@Tellit007 Overall diversity goes up, beneficial species go up, butyrate production goes up, systemic inflammation goes up. What do you want to believe? A scary story, or the actual evidence?

The biohacker who sells a probiotic thinks a discovery has been made: GLP-1 medications damage your gut. The podcast episode will explain what to buy instead. Fascinating. GLP-1 receptors in the brain reduce food noise and appetite centrally. Slowed gastric motility is a secondary peripheral effect that contributes to satiety. The jump from there to pathogenic overgrowth, leaky gut, endotoxin release, and mitochondrial disruption has no trial behind it. It is a speculative cascade built to justify the close. SELECT enrolled 17,604 people on semaglutide for up to five years. Their guts were not left in a worse place. They had 20% fewer major cardiac events. The trial ran. The gut dysbiosis signal did not emerge. The probiotic was not part of the protocol. The GLP-1 half-life is seven days. The fear mongering has a much shorter shelf life than that. Precious.

GLP-1s work by slowing down transit time in your gut. It may sound harmless, but it’s not. When waste sits longer, it ferments. That creates an overgrowth of pathogenic bacteria that can: → Increase gut inflammation → Drive leaky gut and endotoxin release → Disrupt blood sugar regulation, fat metabolism, and mitochondrial health The real question no one’s asking: when people wean off GLP-1s, is their gut left in a worse place than when they started? A male Chinese goose attacked a man, so the man pretended the goose knocked him to the ground! Then the male goose proudly returned to his mate, holding his head high and showing off his strength to her. 😅

Sister, aren't you supposed to be a scientist? I KNOW you know what chemicals are. This is so laughable.
Sabine Hossenfelder@skdh

@astroFunkhouser used to live in AZ and CA. I don't doubt that the ingredients are "real", but I prefer my bread with fewer chemicals

Can we talk about how stupid that was to a comical degree tho? Like the companies importing anime felt the need to protect the children from *checks notes* foreign dishes……oh no, the horror Lmao

@Staroxvia Either you thrive on conflict and want to force one that need not exist. Or you're traumatized and perceive me as a threat. Either way, it's not good for either of us to interact. Be well!

@FionaSmall English did have 2nd person singular (thou, cognate with French tu) and plural (you, cognate with the French vous). So in actual fact, it dropped the singular. And as it turns out, you is the plural and more respectful.
