Yesterday, a chapter closed in transit history when the last Muni "Breda" departed.
Now, it's up to all of us to tell their story. Muni #1534, the last Breda to ever run, will be preserved at our museum. Help us raise $2,000 more to save history!

A gentle reminder that the term "Victorian" for architecture primarily relates to the reign of Queen Victoria, who died in 1901. Using it for a 1917 building that has been greatly altered is off the mark.

A terrible precedent for San Francisco. There are more than 200,000 parcels in SF and only 320 are landmarks.

Tech is kind of funny because if you’re wildly successful, the logical end-state of your career is that you start a podcast, maybe launch a tequila brand, and dabble in some angel investing.

Over the last 10 years, there has been no shortage of items used as evidence that "San Francisco is over." But Toronado becoming the vehicle for a cryptocurrency may indeed be a sign of the End Times.

Frankly surprised this does not still go on today.
San Francisco Cable Car Museum@SFCCM
This 1896 illustration from the SF Call shows one of the favorite pastimes of kids in the cable car era--using the cable as locomotion for skating up steep hills. They used a wire to hook the cable in the slot and away they went! Not popular with the cable companies though!
