Salivary Duct Carcinoma (SDC) is rare, but its "markers" provide a roadmap for targeted treatment. 🧬 ✅ 75% are AR+: Can be treated with hormone therapy. ✅ 40% are HER2+: Targeted drugs available. Knowledge is power. Ask your team about marker testing.

March is all about renewal! 🌷 We see growth daily through the power of our community. Breakthroughs in rare cancer don’t happen in a vacuum. They happen when patients, clinicians, & researchers collaborate. Together, we’re changing the landscape of what’s possible. ✨ #SGCUK

It sounds surprising, but rare salivary-type cancers can also grow in the Bartholin’s glands. 💡 Because it’s often mistaken for a common cyst, diagnosis is frequently delayed. Don't "wait and see"if you have a persistent lump or burning, seek a specialist's view. 🎗️ #gynaecancer

✅ Adenocarcinoma 🎯 • Flat sheets, acini, three-dimensional clusters, papillary groups, and single malignant cells. • Enlarged irregular nuclei with open chromatin and prominent nucleoli (often macronucleoli). • Delicate wispy to finely vacuolated cytoplasm; intracytoplasmic mucin may be present. • A common primary lung carcinoma; ancillary studies and molecular testing are often used for classification and targeted therapy selection.

Did you know tissues similar to salivary glands line your trachea? They protect our lungs, but when cancer (SGC) develops there, it’s rare - only 1 in 1,000 cases. 🫁 Because it’s so rare, symptoms like breathlessness are often mistaken for asthma or COPD, delaying diagnosis.
