This is a difficult read, but an important one. As @OliviaMesser points out, this level of reporting at a place like CNN requires tremendous amounts of corroboration and multiple lawyers signing off. Swalwell shouldn’t just drop out of the California governor’s race, he should resign from Congress too. Praying for justice and for comfort for all the women he has preyed upon.

By January 2027, Mexico will expand universal healthcare to all people, with full coverage of drugs, lab tests, etc by 2030. The “Republicans do even worse stuff!” argument against Eric Swalwell being held accountable is gross. You are either for justice or against it. You can’t be for justice when it’s the other team and against justice when it’s your team. We must hold them ALL accountable.

I've seen enough. With his nuanced statement aimed at defending likely criminal charges, Swalwell all but admits a per se abuse of power under House ethics rules: sex with a subordinate. He must now drop out of the Governor's race and resign from Congress. Rep. Tony Gonzales, who admitted to the same violation, should also resign.
