Great seeing all the computer scientists and engineers from Ashburn and Stevenson Elementary come together at the @CurieHS Robotics Challenge!!  Curie students designed obstacle courses for the elementary school students and their robots!!

Tonight I attended the STEM Innovation Symposium and presented a commending resolution to the VA Chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. @SHPE has been leading Hispanics in STEM for over 50 years and it was an honor to recognize them for their contributions.

ChemE students and the @lehighu @SHPE student chapter came together for an interactive collaboration of cultural games and ice cream making in a bag. It was delicious fun! #CommunityMatters @lehighengineers

When I was training to become an engineer, I was often the only Latina in the room. While we have made progress toward making STEM more inclusive, we have a duty to close the gender gap and strengthen programs that empower girls of all backgrounds to explore STEM careers.
